I very highly doubt you'll be able to through AoA, since they're a separate entity. Dealers don't give two shits about older cars, or what their owners want. I've had to front all of my parts through my family in Europe....

I made a friend in Germany to get the parts. Audi/VW of America basically said they can't do anything in getting the new parts for older cars.

Yep, he's the friend! He's been spot on with delivery, consistent contact, and even checks up with you after the parts arrive at your doorstep. Audi/VW GmbH should give this guy a medal and paycheck for the amazing service he does. Best of all, efficient!

I've heard the user RMode on here works for Audi here in the states and occasionally orders from Audi Tradition. He's the one I think organized the small group of B5 S4 rear euro bumpers from Audi Tradition. You could reach out to him, but I'm pretty sure he's not going to be ordering small things here and there for everyone on the forum. Just the occasional large order. Other than that Jens (lowestA4) lives in Germany and does a lot of orders for me. If there's something small you're after and don't need it immediately send me a PM and I can have him add it with my next order and reship to you once it arrives state side.

Just picked up a bunch of misc parts for my b5 s4 avant while doing my oil valley /PCV cover gasket. I made sure to get two of everything. Incase I need them again.

The audi parts guys whos been there 15 years. Said "they are going to stop selling parts for b5 s4 very soon ALL- together,. "

So I also ordered the two rear coolant pipe/hose assembly that joints coolant pipe to rubber hose, and high pressure fitting to the turbo. He said there is only a couple left :C

Well, the good news is, I think we still have a little more time with the OEM suppliers to get the parts. However, the coolant feed and return lines to the heater core are NLA across the board. The fuel pump is also NLA, but still available from VDO. For how long? I don't know. Good thing you bought a couple of each thing. I'm doing the same thing myself. It's a shame that Audi is phasing out the car that basically saved them from bankruptcy. But at the same time, I can understand why they are doing it from a business standpoint. They aren't like Mercedes Benz, which will have parts available forever, so long as you can pay for them.

Have you tried talking to a few of the official Audizine site sponsors, such as Europrice and/or Topher? That's where I get parts for my Ur S6 Avant, among others.

Engine/mechanical parts are relatively easy to source replacements. There's another thread on here where we've put together generic replacement pieces for the heater core hoses and attachments from other suppliers. I don't know anyone that's bought a stock replacement fuel pump when there's so many aftermarket choices. 9 out of 10 of the bolts on the car can be replaced with generic metric bolts or are close enough to bolts for other platforms to be shared. I'm not real worried about any parts like that. Gaskets and seals have a bunch of aftermarket choices too. It's interior trim pieces or external accessory pieces (for example, cowls) that have no replacements I'm most worried about. People can find solutions for everything else.

Can still buy those here from Audi new if you really wanna spend that money on new ones. They're just listing the Allroad part number anymore. Both the right and left Allroad part numbers now are replaced by only the right. For example, 078919529S was the left, but Audi has the "R" part number listed as replacement for it now. They were both the same sensor but just different color housing and wire length from what I understand.

    One:

Or two as a pair (repair kit at least according to ECS):

I called the dealer today. These are no longer being made.

They needed to contact German to see if they are still able to be purchased.

I believe that if they are still available, you have to get the allroad PN versions?

I bought a new pair about a year ago, and of course things could have changed since then.

Yeah I just called my local dealer in Denver to check 5 minutes ago. Had him check for an 01 S4 and the part numbers all pointed to superseded by the one I found a couple comments back for the Allroad: 078919529R

They are still available new, but special order, which he said likely ships from Germany. He quoted some ridiculous price of like $629 each new lol, but they're still available, just not stocked here.

078998124B This is the part number I gave Audi. Which is BOTH EGT sensors.

078919529R This part number is for the black EGT sensor only?

You'd have to check what exactly is in that supposed kit of both (if it's just 2 of part 078919529R or what). I just found it through ECS listings and cross referenced it to genuineaudiparts.com and it looks valid still, but neither sites list kit contents by separate parts numbers. I didn't ask on the phone about that since the guy took like 15 minutes to find what I was looking for and I didn't wanna bug him further. genuineaudiparts are pretty good about keeping their website up to date with marking NLA items discontinued.

The matching left hand side of part 078919529R was 078919529L... The "L" part along with pretty much all other variants seemed to be superseded by 078919529R. Which to me that means Audi is only making 1 EGT sensor for both sides going forward (until they make none one day). The sensors themselves aren't any different (black vs tan/brown/red). The 2000 S4 actually used 2 black ones and they moved to different colored ones just for clarity later on which was intended for which side. Only difference I've seen is the red one in earlier revisions had a shorter wire length because they moved to mounting the sensor boxes offset on the back of the intake manifold to the passenger side, meaning one side would need shorter wire and one side longer to reach there. I have no idea if that's still the case in later variants of 078919529. If you got 2 of 078919529R then worst case scenario I could see is you get 2 red ones with shorter wires and just need to mount the box/connector part of the driver side a little closer to the driver side.

If you do call and find out what's in the "kit" (of 2), please do share.

It's not the end of the world if they stop making these. There's a lot of other options. $65 connectors to ghost the signal sold on ebay, you can have the egts coded out entirely by your tuner, and there may still be some people around that repair these. In most cases it was some electronic part inside the box/connector that went bad and the probe itself inside the exhaust manifold was pretty sturdy and rarely broke. Lots of these working in the used parts world still available since so many people delete them.

It seems that the only way to get these, is to reach out to the seller, as they are no longer listed in stock on the website.

EGT sensors NLA. Audi got back to me today. (Well sort of, I had to call them)

FCPeuro emailed me back saying they can get them. So I ordered some. Let’s see if that happens.

Just curious if that's entirely, including the part number they told me they can order, or if you're referring that kit of 2?

Well glad we got 2 different answers from Audi dealers lol... typical . I'd trust yours more since they actually took some time to try to order it and found they couldn't. Good luck with getting remaining stock through fcp. At least I've got a small stockpile of used working sensors if I ever need them.

The dealership I went to requested it from Germany. And the request was denied.

Would be nice to have a new set for the EGT sensors though. Temperamental; EGT sensors can be. As well as ICM's, and spider hoses.

Nice! That's the last place I bought a pair years back too actually (they're local to me). Looks like they've had that stock sitting around a while. Once it's gone, that'll be it.

Am I understanding correctly? Parts for the B5 S4 will basically be unobtainable? Can anything be ordered through Audi Tradition?

FWIW I believe flyboys4 got RS6 EGT's to work on the 2.7T. Gets a proper 'wideband' reading as well.

Basically already 95% gone. The last 5% isn't going to be a whole lot different than it is now (if thats true... parts department people feed me a load of crap every time I speak with them). There's a lot shared with other platforms or made by companies beyond the original supplier that are and will still be available. But just go look on any oem audi parts site. Any given section of the car has like 19 of 20 parts listed discontinued already. Especially body panels and interior bits.

Slowly other brands are producing more. THE Tuner is starting to make coolant hoses and little grommets for engine bay. 034 MS just released a new billet rear main seal the other week. ETSpec has more stuff every time I look. Glad we have companies like that around still willing to develop new parts 22 years later. It's a classic car at this point, so I expect having to come up with custom solutions.

Much appreciated. Thanks. My 00 S4 has not been getting much love for the past 5 years or so. Drive it occasionally but sits on a tender otherwise. Might finally need to part ways with her if parts are going to become a huge chore to source going forward. She started my love affair with Audi. My RS6 20+ years later took me full circle.

Well if you're planning a full ground up restore then at this point it's going to take some money and time to figure out replacements for some items. Been doing that with my widebody build for a year now. I guess that's half the fun finding solutions, but if you're not up for it (I wouldn't be if I had an rs6 to concentrate on!) then yeah maybe time to part ways.

If we're talking about an engine overhaul, then there's plenty parts available to keep these things moving. Just gotta get good at repairing and refinishing other items that can be restored without replacement.

Audi Dealer that will order Audi Tradition parts.

It is possible to order Audi Tradition parts from a dealership in the US, assuming the vehicle/or part was originally intended for a US spec vehicle.

In terms of availability, it’s really hit or miss, we do not have any sort of catalogue like ETKA, for US tradition.
Some more mainstream parts, like radiators, brake rotors, etc are usually available to order, but more specialized items, like seat covers, or headliner pillars, may not necessarily be available. It never hurts to ask though, we have been surprised on occasion ;)

If anyone has any questions/requests just shoot me a message. Happy to help.

Good to know a dealer in the states would do that. I've always had a friend in Germany order then reship to me. Guessing there would be some markup from dealers here.

As far as parts available from Tradition, is it just what you find on the public site here when you go to the B5 section and/or do a search for a specific part number?

    https://shops.audi.com/en_GB/web/tradition/

Or is there something more as far as parts go that a U.S. dealer would be able to see and access for order that the public can't see from the site linked above?

Last question.. are you saying a U.S. dealer would not be able to order a B5 RS4 only part (like an RS4 fender for example) since that was not a U.S. model?

I think there was a time when you could get a dealer connect on RS4 parts and such - but last few times I tried that my dealer hookup basically chuckled!

Yeah, I've tried three local dealers, and each time they look at me like I'm slow.
