FIXED - Got a fix for this, but it will depend on how good your sales associate is.
So I told my SA I couldn't set the key user still after I took delivery this past weekend. We tried to set it up at the dealership, but didn't work. He made some calls and figured it out.
Basically, the sales associate has to set everything up in the Portal. They will need your username and password as well, so he can log into the account and set it up. I'm not exactly sure what he did on his end, but whatever it was it required my password. He said the vehicle tag we get with the vehicle code is no longer needed and we can't set key users ourselves...which is odd because what if you need to set a new key user, but anyway, just glad it works now.
So to recap, here are the steps I took.
- I set up user account in MyAudi app.
- Then did something in the app for dealer verification...not sure what it was, but the SA had to go into his portal and approve
- Then we went out to the vehicle and I logged in...tried to set key user using the vehicle code and it did not work
- Then tried to set key user using the MyAudi app, still didn't work
- Took some tips here by resetting password, logging out and back in, still did't work
- So, mySA calls and says he can fix it, but needs my username and password
- I sent him the info, he did something in his portal, and now it works. I had to delete my user in the car because I forgot my password again, so not sure if you'll have to do that.
So, bottom line it's on your dealer/SA to set the key user up. So give them a call or swing by and let them know it has something to do with their portal.
Please report back if this is the actual fix so we can spread the word. I saw one post where an owner was actually being told some hardware had to be replaced in his Audi to fix this.
