Are your parking sensors going off more once lowered?

Anyone else feel like your parking sensors have gotten WAY more sensitive once you lowered your Q?

I've noticed this on previous cars but not like this.

I believe it's mostly the front sensors, but none are immune to going off unnecessarily now. Whether in stop and go traffic, or just pulling up to a stop light, the things are always beepin!

Perhaps they can be recalibrated for the new right height?

Sorry if addressed already in a previous thread. Oh and yes, I searched.

Haven’t noticed this on mine. Lowered via CETE.

I’m lowered via CETE as well, and have had them go off with literally nothing around, even fully locking up the brakes as if I was about to rear end someone. I’m not sure if I can credit it to the lowering or if pulling the front bumper is what did it.

FYI - The dealer wanted $1,300 for a front sensor recalibration….

Mostly the same case here. I might get the very occasional phantom pre sense warning on the highway, and maybe sometimes the parking assist comes on in stop/go traffic, but all what I’d consider to be normal (maybe 1-2 times a month at most).

Yes, lowered via CETE here as well. Seems that when I raise it closer to stock height, the false alarms dissipate.

Kinda wondering if the sensors can be recalibrated to a lower ride height. As mentioned above, this should be done when removing/reinstalling the bumpers, but not sure if things would change at all when the car has been lowered.

Lowered Q5e here, they were quite sensitive to start with but they are definitely more sensitive after it's been lowered. I've since turned off the automatic activation option for the time being.

Is that option in the menu settings or did you do that with a VAG-com tool?

Well yes, obviously. I'm talking about just during normal driving, in stop and go traffic or pulling up to stoplights/signs.

You can find the option in the parking sensor menu in the MMI. Only down side in disabling the option is it no longer auto activates when pulling into a parking spot, pressing the parking sensor button can manually activate it in this use case.

Thanks for the info. I assume it'll also still kick in when putting the car into reverse? I typically do that when parking anyway.

Yup that's correct, putting the car in reverse will still activate the parking sensors. I'm about two weeks into disabling auto activate and I haven't noticed much if any inconvenience. It have however made driving in traffic much more enjoyable.

Bumping this thread my front bumper sensors seem to be a lot more sensitive when switching over to the honeycomb grill on my s6, have any others experienced this?

One of my front ones has always been hyper sensitive but I have recently lowered 1". I haven't noticed an increase in it going off.

Not sure how I missed this but yes. After I lowered mine the parking sensors got way more sensitive.
