    Where are all the SQ8 / RSQ8 Owners ?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Debating going a bit bigger then my 2019 SQ5 and have my eyes set for SQ8 / RSQ8. Think I would be perfectly happy with an SQ, especially since this will be my daily.

Not seeing too many around here just checking in if there are owners and what are your likes / dislikes about one especially if you came from an SQ5 or similar.

Also cross shopping SQ8 with Range Rover Sport but I dont think the RRS holds a candle to the Audi on resale and reliability.

    Any input is appreciated!

Good question. Sure would be nice to see a few with some mods on them. I see far more around here than I expected, but they're all stock. Seem to be owned by older non-enthusiasts.

I went from SQ5 to SQ8 and have the PedalBox installed. Give it time, the car basically just came out in the US, and there are actually isn’t a whole lot of mod support yet. There are a few tunes and downpipes, but not a ton of people are in a big rush to void the warranty on such a complex and expensive vehicle.

That said, there are people already dragging them and plenty with wheels, Cete, etc. There’s just not a lot of discussion here. Some of us are on the WhatsApp group, and there is some decent activity on FB as well.

I will say for the SQ8: do not skip the S-Sport Package which gives you the 48v active sway bar system as well as the sport rear differential. This is transformative for the vehicle, makes it handle better than many smaller/lighter vehicles (including my SQ5 which also had air and sport diff). It’s an expensive option ($5900 for MY21) but worth every penny and not something you can add later. US market RSQ8 has this as standard.

No SQ8 here but we have an SQ7 incoming and can echo the sentiments on the Sport Package.
Out of 220 for sale nationwide only 10 have the Sport package. We ordered the first week of January and it was just built last week so if you're not buying off the lot be prepared for a LONG wait.
We plan on some simple mods ..no tune ...don't feel exhaust is necessary since it already sounds so good. Wheels are a must.
It's for the wife who wanted a three row SUV and loved her first gen Q5. She had wanted to pick up a Gen II Q7 but when they released with that horrible dash configuration we went over to Volvo.
She's excited to be back in an Audi.

Thanks for heads up on the sports package - typically it's been a must for me on previous audis I've owned! Been looking at both (RS and S), SQ8 offers tons of car for $$ compared to competition and will still be fairly unique no matter where you live or drive. Hoping to see more builds and discussions on them here. Will start my hunt shortly!

I currently drive a 19 SQ5 and was able to borrow a RSQ8. After driving that and getting back into my SQ5, the RS is BIG. Big in a good way. I didn’t get much seat time in it and I can only imagine the gas milage you would get. But you wouldn’t be buying this car for the milage. Power was awesome in both drive and in sport. A lot different than the SQ5. I know it’s comparing apples to oranges but drive in the SQ5 just lugs around. The one thing that I did love on the RSQ8 was that it had an Akrapovic exhaust on it. Valves were opened the whole time I was using it and it sounded awesome. I really wish I drove it with valves closed just to hear the difference. Again I think it sounded awesome but I can see how the grumble inside the cabin may get old if open all the time. I’ve been trying to sell my wife on getting rid of the SQ5 and getting into the RSQ8.

    I have a 2021 SQ8. It has catless DPs and a stage 2 Tune.

It runs neck and neck with my Hellcat Durango which is also new, and stock.

Great vehicle. Getting the sport package and the premium package, so that you get all of the goodies that contribute to the handling and suspension, is an absolute must.

Thank you!! Well the SQ5 is fun, smaller and just plain cheaper all around (car, gas, etc...) all of it in a good way. I still miss my blue SQ5 above sometimes.

My RSQ8 is wonderful and I love it. It also has a wonderfully sized payment and gas bill too, but driving it pretty phenomenal. Especially when in RS1 mode.

I liked my SQ5 when I got it. After I lowered it, put on the intercooler and downpipe it was fun. I am hoping that lowering this and doing some exhaust mods will liven it up.

I am curious as well. I got mine new in Feb and I am 6700 miles so far. I haven’t had any issues with it at all. I wondering if there is something I should be looking for.

With the new updates? Absolutely gorgeous!

I went through a few cars since this post, and currently in a '23 X5 m50i.

Looking to get back into an Audi either RSQ8 OR SQ7. BMW is OK but the Audis to me is 'better' in almost every single way (esp comparing m50i vs sq7).

Following this thread for more owner updates!

So I'm gonna chime in here as a current SQ5 owner that's also looking to upgrade to an SQ8.

Not my intention to hijack the thread but rather hoping to get more pro/con contributions from current S and RS Q8 owners.

I saw someone mentioned a FB group of SQ8 owners... Will scope that out too.

    Thanks.

I have a 2020 SQ8. So far did IE Stage 1 tune, high flow catted downpipes, OBD11, re-sealed the B&O subwoofer, Maxton bits, blacked out badges, Vorsteiner 22's and now activated Matrix lighting. This is one of my all time favorite cars!!
