To Sportback, or not to Sportback, that is the question...

So I've got my eye on a 2021 Q5, still undecided if I want to go SQ5 again or the Q5 55 TFSI e Plug-in hybrid. I loved my B8 SQ5, and the Macan GTS after that was nice too but I actually liked the Q better. I also love my current 2019 C8 A7, but with the kiddo it sure is nice to have a proper SUV for road trips. Especially to the snow.

So anyway, back to the topic at hand. Do I want to go traditional SUV or a "Sportback"? On other brands I'm not really a fan of the coupe look, but damn if I don't like it on the Q5!

What's yawls take on the Q5 Sportback look?

I say try the SB, unless the roofline henders cargo storage too much. For the exterior, I think it looks great. Stock for stock, I would go regular Q5, but with the mods, the SB will look moar cooler.

Yeah I'm not sure. I've gotten quite used to the A7 roofline, and its far more aggressive. The Macan was much more sloped than the Q though, and the cargo space was definitely hindered by it.

Hopefully we'll be able to see one in person soon.

Get the sportback! It does look really good. At least as a potential differentiator as well if you're into that.

I'm leaning that way. I was actually going to ask if anyone heard when they'd be coming to the US as the AoA website only said "coming soon". But I just checked again and it looks like the configure pages are now up. Time to go put together a build sheet!

NEVERMIND!

As I was building an SQ5 Sportback in the configurator, I spotted a deal-breaker...no roof rails! Oh and it's also a few grand more expensive, for less car!?

Are you sure there were no roof rails? I just built on the Canadian site and it definitely has them

Also on a site note...the rear bumper on this thing looks really good. I love how the tail pipes are integrated into the bumper...reminds me of the ABT kit. Makes me wish I had held off a bit for the B9.5’s
