    Pacific German's Q7 4M Build Thread

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Recently had our Q7 outfitted with an ABT Sportsline Body Kit. We have both a 2017 Q7 and a 2019 Q7 as shop demo trucks, but this 2017 got the goods! Over the past few weeks we had a kit ordered from ABT America and then sent to the body shop, and finalized with a full paint correction, clear bra, window tint, and ceramic coating.

Here are some quick photos I snapped. Can't wait to get a professional shoot with this thing this week, it looks insane in person!

    Brief upgrade list:

ABT Sportsline Aero Package Slim Body
    ABT Sportsline Rear Wing
SQ7 Euro Rear S line Wing (required with ABT wing)
Rotiform DVO 22" wheels in a brushed with smoked clear tint
    Michelin P4S 285/35/22
    Brembo B-M8 412mm Brake Kit
Color Matched Red Rear Calipers with Drilled Discs
    Revotechnik Stage 1 ECU Tuning
    SQ7 Euro Steering Wheel
RS5 Air Preforated Leather Shift Knob
    Euro Black Audi Rings
    Audi Sport Front Grille Emblem

Since this was a factory air suspension equipped Q7, we used our factory scan tool to re calibrate the air suspension to lower it around 1" from factory. And since it was a factory black optics truck, we added a few custom touches to the ABT Aerokit for the whole blacked out look.

There is still a few goodies in the works, I will update as we go! For now, enjoy!

And a train somewhere is looking for its brakes.
Life has taught me never try to make something idiot proof, they'll simply come up with a better idiot.
I'd agree with you but then we'd both be wrong.
I have neither the time, nor the crayons to explain this to you properly.

    Beautiful!! Any sound clips?
Does the ABT kit includes a rear section to the exhaust or is it fake tips?

As all have said, looks spectacular.

Question about the factory scan tool lowering the air suspension - after that's done, how easy is it for a dealer to discover / notice when they hook the vehicle up for diagnostics / ECU checks? Would it be reset to factory specs if the dealer updates the ECU with new software?

I'll be getting a 2020 Q7 with air soon and am debating between a CETE (ongoing flexibility to adjust, but a clear "mod" when a dealer looks at the vehicle) vs. getting a 1-time change with the factory tool (lacks ongoing adjust-ability by me...but maybe less likely to be noticed by dealer?). Appreciate the insights, as I'm coming from the pre-air suspension option world ('14 SQ5 and'15 RS5)...

Other than the obvious lower ride height, there is no way for the dealer to tell the car has been lowered with the factory tool. Since its a suspension ride height recalibration, I would almost wager it can't impact the factory warranty since the height is still within allowable parameters from the factory tool. The CETE module will go lower, but this is an obvious accessory to a dealer technician.

If there is ever a software update performed to the truck, the air suspension height will not change. The only time the height can be changed by the dealer is if they perform a basic setting recalibration, if they replace the level control module, air strut, etc.

Thanks Shawn, super helpful. One additional question - does the factory tool change it across the board (e.g now all profiles - Comfort, Dynamic, Auto - are an inch or whatever value you picked lower) or is it profile specific (e.g. can set dynamic an inch lower but leave comfort as is)?

Yes, all modes (comfort, dynamic, auto) are about 1" lower than before.

The only way to have only one mode lower is with a CETE module.

I think there may be an issue with imageshack (where I normally host photos)

I'll see if it fixes itself, if not I will re upload today!

I own the Vossen x ABT Q7. I absolutely love this kit! I want to upgrade the brakes but I'm worried it will mess with the adaptive cruise control. Any issues?
My truck also didn't come with the ABT (piggyback) tune because it was not fully developed when I took delivery. Have you installed one?

Looks like it has Revotechnik Stage 1 ECU Tuning - as per the description. Sweet looking ride btw.

That is a killer looking Q7! I wish ABT still offered the widebody kit for the USA. For now the slimbody kit work for us! I will send you a PM regarding your truck.

We have two Q7s, both with adaptive cruise control and big 412mm 8 Piston Brembo brakes. No issues with the adaptive cruise. Both of our trucks are also running Revotechnik software with great results.
