First outing with the new headlights and Vorsteiner V-FF 110 in Highland Bronze. Unlike the last few sets of aftermarket wheels, these are 20" and not 21". These will be our Winter set.

I wanted to update things real quick, especially since I was maybe the first in the US with these European-spec headlights and it took some trial-and-error fiddling but we got them to work!

First off, these are some seriously tech-packed headlights! It's no wonder they cost so damn much.

They basically each run their own computer module, which if you're familiar with HID headlights, they look like a ballast. They are coded to the various regions, and communicate with the car's ECU. If they're not all speaking the same language, everything goes to hell. They won't even turn on. No low beam, no high beam, and no blinkers. You must first swap the module's in order for them to work at all. But then, you'll still get a number of error lights such as High Beam Assist and of course a Corner Marker bulb failure. That's where knowledge of VCDS "VAG-COM" tool comes into play and the proper coding from Alexander at Europrice.

Hey, sorry I missed this question. I ordered the car with the "front plate delete". Not technically legal to run without a front plate in California, but most dealerships will simply have you sign a waiver to take legal responsibility off their shoulders.

So I just wanted to post up a quick update regarding a new part, or actually parts, coming this week courtesy of Europrice.

The S7 rear lower valence, along with the European-specific tailpipe inserts.

So as most of you already know, here in North America we'll be getting the petrol/gasoline engine S6/S7 while across the pond there will be a diesel version. Apparently both will use the same rear valence, and the gasoline one will have the standard cutouts for a typical dual-side dual-tip exhaust that we've come accustomed to on all S-cars. In Europe though, the diesel version will have exhaust tip inserts that attach to the valence. These are available in either standard silver/chrome or black if the car's "Black Optics". I assume the mufflers will just have basic cutoffs right behind said inserts.

I'll get photos of these pieces once they arrive. In the meantime, here's an ETKA diagram to help with my wordy explanation...

As you can see in the diagram, #25 is the standard tip-free A7 valence and #30 is the S7 valence. The section listed as #34 is the exhaust tip insert options for the European S7.

Since we have no aftermarket exhaust options yet for the A6 or A7, I'll most likely run the tip inserts for awhile. If it looks funny with the A7's stock downturned exhaust, I'll have a muffler shop clean it up. If no one releases an aftermarket exhaust this year, or if I just get antsy, I'll probably return to the muffler shop and have them do a custom passthrough setup with proper exhaust tips.

These are H&R Sport Springs, part number 28687-2, for the A7 equipped with Sport Package. I believe there is also a #28687-1 for Non-Sport.

another question, when you changed the springs, the Audi electronic system, gave you back error of calibration shock absorbers, given that they are electronic? ( WITH SPORT SUSPENSION and with ADAPTIVE SUSPENSION).

I did not opt for the adaptive suspension, so no, I didn't encounter any such issues.

According to Europrice, who I got these from, the European (diesel) and North American (petrol/gasoline) cars use the same valence part number, but the later does not use these false tip covers. It has straight through/visible exhaust tips.

Loved them, in the rain anyway. Didn't have a chance to test them in the snow. Hopefully this winter though.

North American S6 and S7 models will get a regular exhaust with actual tips. The Rest of World TDI models will get the fake tips. All models regardless of region will use the same valence.

A6 and A7 S-Line models can fit the S6/7 rear valence with the fake tips or without when some real exhaust solutions show up.
