Wheel repair shop?

Anyone got a good wheel repair shop in the Bay Area? Preferably in the East Bay, but no worries if they're not. I'd much rather them be good than close. The seal on my multi-piece Rotiforms likely needs to be redone as I'm losing about 5lbs of pressure on a few wheels every 3 weeks or so. Would be even better if the shop is also good at refinishing wheels as I've been thinking about either changing colors.

Rite-Way in Walnut Creek is by far one of the best shop in Bay Area. They just fixed my bent wheels and resurfaced the lips a couple weeks ago. The result was more than great. You can check from the pics below.




Tell José the owner of that shop that Paul RS7 with red Vossen owner recommends you to his shop and he will take a good care of you.

I was just about to mention Rite-Way as well. You just beat me to it, Paul.

I've had a number of wheels repaired and/or refinished there over the years.

Depends on the extent of the damage but for issues like you're describing with 3 piece, rite way is the place to go.

There's cheaper options for easy jobs like slight wheel rash, but once you establish a relationship at rite way, they're willing to work in special pricing for repeat customers.

Only company I would trust my wheels with is Pacific Rim. Not on the peninsula, sorry!

Looks like Rite-Way is getting a call Monday morning. I cracked the inner lip of the wheel while driving on some back roads. The boulder (baseball size rock) in the road somehow got the wheel but not the tire. My poor OZ Ultraleggera

So Rite-Way does not repair cracked wheels. However Pacific Rims in Pittsburg does. $150 and it should only take a day or two. It also helps that they are 1/2 mile from my house.

They are awesome. As I mentioned above I would not use anyone else.

Rite-Way did a pretty good job of repairing curb rash and straightening a slightly bent wheel that I brought in. But the refinishing job they did on my 5-spoke titanium rotor was mediocre at best. They're unable to match the Audi clear coat on the wheel, so they leave it uncoated. Jose told me that up front and I went ahead with the repair, but the end result did not match my other 3. It had a lightly sanded matte look...not the smooth satin factory finish.

Not totally unrelated and kind of a rant but I called Rite Way to check about powder coating some wheels. They are very local and have a great rep in the area. The lady I spoke to told me they don’t powder-coat used wheels. Furthermore, since two of my wheels have very minor rash, that was emphasized even more they couldn’t powder-coat my wheels. Finally, she told me they only powder coat with powder on hand and don’t order custom colors.

Pretty strange for a wheel repair shop. I was just short of asking what work they actually do?

LOL wheels shops up here are garbage. There is only one place I take my wheels and thats VR wheels in socal. They are the freaking costco of rare used wheels overseas and can do any fix/finish.

Pacific Rim did an excellent job of repairing the crack although they did NOT touch up the paint in the area where the welding had to occur. Not too bad as I touched it up and since it was on the inside of the wheel not a bid deal, but still...

Usually the one who would pick up a call and walk you through the process is José the owner but he is out sick so the lady is a stand in for him. Obviously she doesn’t have the same knowledge José’ has and can’t make all the decisions since she is not the owner. Basically I think she was playing safe by not doing what she wasn’t told to do and didn’t have authority to do so.

I suppose even a great shop has a hiccup from unforeseen situations.
