With the huge demand of the Q5 in North America, the great response to TDI, and the lack of an S4 Avant here any longer, I can only imagine this SQ5 will make its way here next year.

Not enough of a power increase compared to a tuned 3.0 will have so unless they can produce closer to 400 bhp stock I won't get too excited. However if they brought the TDI stateside in this configuration I'd be thrilled, but we all know that will never happen.

I agree, a tuned 3.0 would be just as fast or faster and cheaper but you wont get the mpg.
Who cares since we never see the really good stuff here.

Based on past communication/releases, audi is committed to bringing a diesel q5 to North America by 2014.

I imagine that this model doesn't eat into the the NA 2.0Y/hybrid market share ...I vote it comes!

Here in Canada. The Q5 hybrid is about 56k. That's more than the S4 @ 53K! Can't imagine how much this SQ5 would go for. At least low 60's which I think it's too $$.

I doubt the SQ5 is going to be in the $60's unless it's like the hybrid and only comes Prestige...

I just priced out a 2013 3.0T with P+ and all the other goodies (navi, sport, tow, etc) and it came to $50k. I would venture to guess the starting price will be in the mid to high $40's

Tweeted @AudiUSA about bringing the SQ5 to the States a few days ago. They replied "nothing has been announced so far".

This car can compete with new MB GLK and the Porsche Cayenne S/GTS.

If it comes to the States, I would consider trading in my S4.

I doubt that AOA would be willing to take a chance on this, mainly because of TDI. If it does indeed come to NA, there will soon be some faster and more modern competition in the form of Porsche Macan, and RR Evoque R.

I would buy any TDI Quattro that is smaller than a Q7. I would trade in my wifes A3 for a SQ5 or just a Q5 TDI for sure if it they are brought to the US. Please VW or Audi, make a small to medium size TDI Quattro.
