    Is IBIS feminine or manly?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I have wanted to get an Ibis white A4 but have been told by a few that white is feminine. Is white manly on a A4 but feminine on other cars? Let me know what you think. I know there are some males with ibis on here lets get your opinions.

    I love these heated debates!

Edit: Thought I would add so pics to aid your opinions.(Some of my favorites)

Re: Is IBIS feminine or manly?

Haha. I used to drive an Avant, and will again soon, so I always heard the feminine comments. So who cares? But one thing that I have noticed since driving my B8 sedan (which is black) is that every B8 I see driving around, a female is driving. Was not the case in my Avant. So looks to me like it does not matter. Get the color and car you want.

    Peace

Re: Is IBIS feminine or manly?

If it's considered feminine than this B8 board must contain a considerable amount of estrogen, cause Ibis is surely VERY popular....too popular if you ask me.

It's white.....I would have to call it pretty gender neutral.

It's a colour. Why does it have to be anything? And of all colours that can be anything, you picked the one that's NOT a colour to nitpick.

ive always considered white more feminine, but it is not feminine for a guy to drive it. plus, done up the right way, hardly anything looks cleaner than white.

Great car aznpxdd! Wow I must have missed that in my search, definitely one of the best. Did you just debadge or do you have a CVT? Sorry, still thinking of my "Quattro in LA?" thread. If its a CVT how do you like it? PM me if you feel it is off topic on this thread or just post in the other thread.

While I do find that I have a lot of female friends who like white cars, I don't really feel it being feminine or masculine in either way.

That being said, Audis look awesome in white. I guess it's the aggressive front combined with the contrast of the black/gray grill. Great photos by the way :)

Re: Is IBIS feminine or manly?

I agree with most of you here that in "most" cases color doesn't matter. The exceptions being pink and certain shades of purple (deep purple on an old school GTO is mean!!!). Those clearly are feminine colors. Aside from those...as others have said...it's just a color.

Some people ask this question of the cars themselves, not just the colors they come in. I mean some folks call Miatas and S2000s women's cars....but then beef up the car and put them on the track and those same people wouldn't dare call either one of them a woman's car. Hell, some people even call my Lotus a girl's car....but what girl do you know that would drive a car with no A/C (I have A/C delete option), crappy radio, no cup holders, poor heat, loud cabin noise, and only comes in 6MT???

In the end, it's YOUR car and you'll buy the color YOU choose, right? Surely you're not going to buy ectoplasm green because your friend thought it was cool....right?

Ibis is the color my wife and I are going to get. Get what you want and like and do not worry about what others say.

I like white because it looks clean versus darker colors. Not to mention you do not see the swirl marks from detailing it like on darker colors. I have had both in the past, black cars/trucks and white. I personally would never own another black vehicle. However, black looks tough as heck!

ibis is def a neutral color indeed! and is an excellent color choice for the b8 which seems to be a very popular choice of color amongst a lot of the AZ'ers on this forum! check out this link...

White shows the lines well, but it also shows dirt incredibly well. I chose white cause from what I remember, even with a lot of dust or dirt, it still looks reasonably cleaner than any other colour.

Apparently Toronto winter salt and dirt is nothing like I've seen before. If I had known, I probly would've picked Meteor or Quartz.

I think you are speaking of the Tungsten Pearl. I agree. Yes, I have been researching the Lexus's too. A IS 250 AWD would be small in comparison to the Audi's back seat though. We would have to get a GS 350AWD and they are kind of ugly in my opinion...

Re: Is IBIS feminine or manly?

I'm gonna interject and say that to me, white is a more feminine color. Whenever one of my female friends gets a car I ask "It's white isn't it?" and they 90% of the time say, "Yes".

However, I feel that it's in combination with the car itself. A white scion TC or BMW 6 series is totally feminine.

In terms of the Audi A4, I think it looks great for a man or woman.

White with beige = girl car 98% of the time.
White with any other interior is a man's car.

Re: Is IBIS feminine or manly?

I think White is neither many or feminine... it's just 'neutral' thus works either way

perhaps: just a speculation here, the ladies can't decide so they pick white for it's neutrality. And the guys.... just so choose the white because that's exactly what they want.

ps: white 6-series is much sexier than other colors say gold, burgundy etc...
