    Condensation inside windshield?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Once and a while before the cold temps came my car would have some condensation on the windshield and i could just wipe it away..however the past few days here in the north east have been really cold and sometimes I have ice on the inside of my windshield(and rear window)...

This happened tonight and i took the pic below with my cell phone.. It sucks waiting another 10 minutes after starting the car to defrost ICE on the inside of the car

Any ideas what is causing this?

i use stoner's invisible glass, but the condensation still returns after cleaning.

its just turning into ice because of the colder temps now it actually freezes inside the car

Exact same thing happens to me in both my B7 and B8 when it gets really cold.

You may want to check your drains in your sunroof/roof. Sometimes they get clogged and you get condensation inside. Mine are so clogged I get WATER built up on my floor and condensation. So get yours cleaned out and make sure yours don't get as bad as mine haha

Are your floors wet? When we would shampoo floors for crappy auction cars it would get the stains out but we didnt have time to let the $800 cars dry so we just sent them with cracked windows and there would most definately be condensation. Somewhere there is moisture inside your car.

my mk4 had this problem, so at first sight of the condensation i went to go check the footwells but it seemed dry. The drains seemed to be in a different place than my vw, so i guess ill have to see where they are

Snow does melt on my monster mats and I should clean them more frequently, but im finding as the weather gets colder even on dry/non rainy days my windows in the parking lot are the first to fog up.

hah thanks thats some assurance. I might have to look into a remote starter to save some time and defog the windows before i go outside.

Be sure you are running the heater with the AC on. It may sound like a no-brainer to most of you, but you'd be surprised by how many people don't know that the AC actually works as a dehumidifier and not simply something to keep you cool in the summertime.
