    B6/B7 Cabriolet Only Section?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hi All-

This is especially geared towards all the B6/B7 S4 Cab owners (and potentially B6/B7 A4 owners if it gets started) - is there interest in working with the Audizine team to get a specific Cabrio only forum? The Avants have their own section, so why not Cabrios?

While the standard B6/B7 S4/RS4 forum has some great information and lots that is useful to us, I find it hard to find information specifically for/from cabrio owners - even while using the search feature. It would be great to have a forum dedicated to us where we can post photos of cabrios, all mods/parts that do, do not work for us, etc.

While I'm new to this forum, I have lots of questions pertaining to my S4 Cabrio and modifications so I figured I can't be the only one.

Chime in here and if there is a decent response I'll see if I can contact an administrator and get something going.

    TIA.

Correct me if im wrong, but wouldnt the modifications be the same on cabs and non cabs.... only differences may be some body work... other than that engine and technical questions would be the same.... I dont mind sharing pics and info with cab guys I love the cab models

    schmally-

For the most part, you're correct. However, a lot of exhaust systems don't fit on the cabrio due to the extra bracing underneath.

It's really less about performance modifications (read: exhaust) but more for photos of what other cabrio owners have done in terms of visual mods (wheels, suspension, exhaust, etc.) and since our back ends are different than the sedans it's nice to really see what it looks like as opposed to "visualizing" what it would look like.

Further, the amount of time it takes to search to find a photo of a cabrio with a certain part is very time consuming.

    lisn2me-

This would be a universal B6/B7 Cabriolet section (in my mind) which would include the A4 cabrio models, I just started in the S4/RS4 section since that's what I have ;-)

Moving this to the Feedback forum.

Anything that's posted always get our attention... ... and thank you for the suggestion.

I'm sure Anthony, our Admin, will chime in at one point or another, but it may be hard to justify a sub-forum for cabrio/roadster in a Main platform. However maybe a dedicated forum like the "Avants Only" forum could be more appropriate.

    Thoughts?

    Avantéix-

Thanks for moving, wasn't exactly sure where to put it.

I agree, I was thinking of a "B6/B7 Cabriolets Only" forum, similar to the "Avants Only" forum, as much as I would like a S4/RS4 forum, I think getting all models in would be in the best interest for Cab owners.

A search reveals that you're correct... previous thread...

Who knows, with the expansion of the carbio/roadster models offered by Audi, maybe it would be worthwhile experimenting w/ a dedicated forum...

    Re: B6/B7 Cabriolet Only Section?

I am in it. Many parts are different from the cabrio and the sedan/avant. If I understand correctly, VAG COM mods are different as well (Haven't got mine yet, just searching the forum regarding it).

edit* seems like some VAG COM codes only works on the sedan/avant. I really wish we have a dedicated forum to make my searching a lot easier.

This is not the place to describe what mods you've done on your cab.

If you want you can always start a thread specific to your platform and name is "Cab only modifications" or something like that. But don't do that by hijacking a thread in the Feedback forum. Thanks.

I'm totally game. I love S4 sedans as well, but all the cab. hating on the S4 board gets a little old. Anyway, searching for cab. oriented threads, mods, pictures etc.. would be alot easier to do with a Cab. only forum.

    Re: B6/B7 Cabriolet Only Section?

These days I usually like to see at least 10 or so "yes" votes before testing out a new forum section, which it looks like we already have here.

I think a 'Convertibles Only' section, located in 'More Car Talk', would be a good addition - something to encompass everything from the TT Roadsters to the B7/B7/B8 Cabriolets (as Avantéix suggested). Of course the new R8 Spider/Cabrio/Roadtser too...

    Sound good?

    Re: B6/B7 Cabriolet Only Section?

    Anthony-

Thanks for the response and I concur, I think we do have at least 10 "yes" responses.

However, could we make the forum strictly for B6/B7 A4/S4/RS4 cabrios as well as the upcoming B8 A5/S5 cabrios? I think it would be a lot more useful for the users for it to be a specific forum for those models.

The TT is a whole different beast and has it's own forum which I can imagine is probably pretty evenly split between coupes and cabs and I don't think the R8 members would use the forum a lot, my guess is they'll stick in the general R8 forum.

Either way, I'm grateful to get a forum Cabrio specific, but I think the B6/B7/B8 forum would be most beneficial for users.

    Thanks again.

    im actually modelist against cabs...

no i actually don't know why it hasn't been made yet. typically convertible people aren't into the car scene enough to go on forums (imo) but if i had one i definitely would want to go talk to other people about things like what hair style is best to blow in the wind and stuff.

I think this would be sweet! There are some differences between Cab and sedan that I've had to discover for myself, so this would be a good way to have more information readily available.

    Re: B6/B7 Cabriolet Only Section?

I completely support this. There are a lot of differences, some subtle, some not, between the A4/S4 Cabs and the sedans/avants.

The Cab body is all different, it happens to be the heaviest S4, the headlights are different, the seats are different, the taillights are different, the dashboard is different, the exhaust, etc, etc.

Yeah, being able to have threads with other Cab owners about what works and what doesn't would be awesome!

    Count me in!

i dont mod my car to be like every other sedan, but i respect the work the sedan guys do figure out these cars. that being said, i think a cab forum like some of the "other" forums might help to bring out specific questions that we might have. i would switch between the forums. count me and my cab in. thanks, harris.

    Thanks, Anthony.

fsttrp- Maybe you can find a answer to your rear bumper removal problem there.

Lets start the cabrio forum going guys, I've already posted a question there.
