They seem to have a ton of issues where we just mod like nuts. LOL.

And check out this thread that I am following. These guys are trashing our cars but their cars have rattles, squeaks, warped speakers, etc... What a bunch of Accord wannabe's. LOL

They are a bunch of clueless bozos. I was originally on there when I was looking for a car to replace my Jetta and thought about the TL but after reading about all the complaints and crap I decided to stick with a VAG product hence the A4. The A4 is a way classier car to begin with.

    Acurazine>Audizine

I'm a mega mod there, and im sorry to say that i would hope this forum one day becomes as etablished as Acurazine.

I hate acuras, however, im still an active poster there because of the crowd.

Every forum has clueless people, the fact that you MAY see more dumb posts visinting there is ONLY because they have like 48537298752983579845 more members than Audizine has.

If we went by ratio which would be the proper way to compare, acurazine in every respect > audizine...from issues to dumb posts.

    just being honest

Do you know when it was founded? Our current numbers don't reflect our true history as we recently revamped the site/forum software earlier this year and started again from square one. Audizine actually launched in the Summer of 2001, and I wasn't aware of Acurazine (or any other Auto-Zine) until now, although I didn't doubt there was any.

    Just curious.

I too am a regular at Acurazine since Jan 2001. (have 13k posts there)
They just recently changed their name to Acurazine, the admin there had no idea there was a audizine till after they did the switch.

Dont judge the whole group just by the TL owners, if you go to the CL section then you will see that most mod their cars and are down to earth. They also know their cars.

    History:

Once there was Acura-tl.com (eary 2000 i think) then acura-cl.com and now acura-tsx.com. They werent really connected but had the same Admin. So they combined all the forums and made Acurazine.com.

    I wouldnt worry about them.

Hey guys... this is soopa... the owner/admin of AcuraZine.

I tried to register last night... but ya'll still have not activated my account... so amir has been kind enough to loan me his.

Let me first respond to the original poster:

I think its safe to say that both Acura & Audi vehicles have their fair share of problems. There's not much debate that can honestly be put into that. Its plain fact unfortunately. Neither Audi nor Acura have been at the pinnacle of reliability for some time. No point in any of us lying to ourselves about that.

As for the behavior of TL owners in that thread:

You must realize that many of the individuals of our 3G TL forum are brand new Acura owners. They just invested as much as 40K of their hard earned salary in a brand new vehicle.

The original poster in that thread came in with an obvious bias, and quite emotional anti-Acura opinion.

Whether is opinion is valid or not. The response is typical and as is expected by people who just made a major investment in the vehicle being attacked.

Audi owners would react in a similar fashion... a quick search on this forum or even this thread itself exhibits that fact.

I think all of us have to rationalize our purchases to ourselves. In doing so we must highlight the pluses of our intended purchase and find minuses with the alternatives.

Its plain idiotic not to recognize that... and more so to fight about it.

As for AcuraZine, the name, the history, etc.

    Jesal got it right.

The community has its roots back to 1999. When we started A-TL.

    Later A-CL. Then A-TSX.

Eventually, with the massive success of our three communities... we decided it was time to brand them under an umbrella.

We created the AcuraZine name just over one year ago. It is still in its infancy and being slowly integrated into our communities.

In all honesty, I was completely unaware of the existence of "AudiZine" at the time the name was created.

To this day, most members of my community are unaware of this fact as well.

However, had I been aware of the name I would be happy to admit AudiZine as my inspiration.

AudiZine seems like a fine site from my limited exposure since Amir/Jesal first made me aware of it several months back.

Were I an Audi owner, I would most likely frequent AudiZine as I share the same sentiment with most of you in regards to AudiWorld.

In reality however, the name evolved from several points.

When we began the journey, our original motivation had been to create a print magazine. This is how the AcuraZine name first became a possibility. Beyond that, we had, at the time, intended to create a Nissan Z community as well... and nissanZine had a great ring to it.

We later abandoned both of those concepts... but still realized an umbrella was needed for our Acura communities.

We matched several names to the following criteria:

    1. We wanted a unique name that didn't sound too generic (aka "-World" or "-Club")
    2. The name needed to to be "wearable". That is... look good and sound good on merchandise. We don't want our members walking around with t-shirts sporting lame generic slogans like "AudiWorld" etc. :D
    3. We needed a name that stood apart from the incredibly cramped crowd of Honda & Acura communities.
    4. The name needed to look good in the same type face as our original ACURA-CL/TL etc style.

I'm sure there were more, the whole process was well over a year in the making. But thats what I recall of the top of my head.

When I finally started to take the "AcuraZine" name seriously... I did some research on the web to find anyone else using the ZINE suffix.

In this research I found many sites, however, not this one.

One of the sites I did find, that I actually had frequented quite often but never managed to add 2+2 was mozillaZine.

With all this, i decided to go ahead.

I was not aware of AudiZine until sometime this summer. (You guys need to improve your search rankings! ;))

Regardless, were both here now. We may be the largest "*Zine" but you are indeed the original. Of all sites to share a suffix with, I'm happy its this. It could be faaaar worse.

I hope this explanation is sufficient, this entire thread has needlessly diminished to kindergarten level. We're all friends here.

If anything, the existence of both of us will help promote the "ZINE" suffix and perhaps help us both against our real competitors.

Theres no reason an Acura site and an Audi site should have any animosity towards each other. Apples and Oranges.

    But I won't.

I'll ask that the rest of you do the same, calling Acura owners "ricey" is unfounded.

We cater to CL/RL/TL/TSX owners. We do not support our ricier brethren.

Granted, the occasional bit of "ricism" can be found in our First Gen sub-forums since the used vehicles have become so cheap there are alot of 16-yr olds getting them as their first car.

But I can see that here too.

    Its all relative folks.

For the most part, the AcuraZine community is inhabited by mature & rational folk. Other than their choice in cars, we are probably not all that different than the average AudiZine member.

    We are all car nuts.

    You were first. No question.

However, I, like you... was unaware of the existence of another automotive-ZINE until recently.

Like I said earlier, the AcuraZine name was solidified in October, 2003.

The community was opened under other banners sometime in 1999.

We didn't know about each other... and i'm sure theres others out there we still don't know about.

I mean, AcuraZine is more than a year in the making... and we're crossing paths for the first time only now.

    You're welcome.

That would be great. You'll see that Audizine is very much an automotive enthusiast Forum, that most of the Members not only love their Audis but cars in general. We do our best to keep the "ricer" BS to a minimum. We can certainly and undoubtedly benefit from each other's existence and knowledge.

I know where you are coming from but if you read the thread on your site you would have a better idea of what was being said and as a former forum owner the moderator should have stopped it way before it would have gotten carried away. Just my opinion. I do enjoy your site very much and looking at the new RL impresses the hell out of me and would consider that for my next car.
