So I have accumulated a number of mods and wanted to start my build thread. It started small about 4 years ago when I bought the car in April of 2012... There are a few cameo appearances of @ProjectBlackout as well.

I'm on the left ProjectBlackout on the right. How far we've come since then...

First thing I did when I bought the car was blackout the gray grille and get chrome surround fog light grilles (not really pictured).

Then came rims in 2013, 18" VCT rims and an HFE air filter (not pictured).

Then tinted windows and tinted tail lights.

    Added interior LED's.

And an S-Line center console organizer, I don't think it's really S-Line... but it says it on it so why not!

    LED reverse lights.

    RS Grille.

    J-Code mod.

    Brushed metal vinyl interior.

    034 turbo inlet hose.

    034 drive-train inserts.

    Painted calipers.

HFC, awaiting install. Coilovers not pictured, also awaiting install. Stage 2 tune coming Saturday.

    Nice!

How are you liking the silver calipers?

Trying to decide what color to go for with my black car / gunmetal rims

So far I love it. The silver just really cleans up the crappy metal color that is original. I may make some adjustments down the road, center of the rotor may go black and the dust cover may go black as well, but for now I'll rock flat silver all the way around.

Had my coilovers installed yesterday, along with R8 coils, high-flow cat and stage 2 APR. I cannot believe how fast the car is now.

On my ride home the I got challenged by an Monte Carlo SS Intimidator edition and blew him away. Then had a MK3 jetta, BMW M 4 series and Saab 9-5 play follow the leader down 93. Good times!

Made a removable license plate bracket so I can take it off for driving and put it on for parking on the street.

A question about the center console organizer. Are you still able to use your 12v power outlet?

Also would you happen to have a link?

    I got this one: http://www.uspmotorsports.com/Audi--...-A5-S4-S5.html

There's a slot for you to put the chord through to retain the use of the 12v plug. I'm very happy with it.

They were just standard hooks from the local hardware store. Cast about $3.00 to set up the bracket... Which I no longer use as I moved to a location where they don't seem to ticket for it.

Andrew took the plunge and got a Borla downpipe-back exhaust installed today. I tagged along and was designated videographer. Apologies for the quality of the iPhone recordings. The videos really don't do it justice at all, it sounds amazing in person.

Which one? I had a shop do the density transmission mount and I did all the other ones. Most not bad. The density mount was the most complicated and the shop did it for nothing while it was on the lift. URMotorsports in Rochelle Park, NJ. I'm almost never in that area but I would recommend his shop for sure.

I just did both the differential inserts and they were very easy.

I jacked up the rear on stands. I used the jack to hold the diff in place while i removed one side at a time, dont remove both screws at the same time. spray some silicone spray in there and the inserts will slide right in when you tighten. for the other one, i used the jack to raise the differential so you can slide in the top mount insert. I had to keep raising slightly until i had the right height to slide the insert in place. Both of these inserts slid right in without silicone spray, but it is always recommended. Lower the differential and tighten that sucker. I re torqued the trans mount insert as well before i did the diff mounts. All 3 mounts took me an hour a half ( 30 minutes each mount).

My bad, didn't know there were multiple ones. Sounds like a great shop! Noticeable difference afterward (trans and diff)?

Forgot to mention I also put the 034 density transmission mount in. I had a completely opposite experience to blbroo. Car is much more responsive and no added vibrations.

Just read through the rebroo, looks like a worthwhile thing to do. I forget what rating you gave it though....

He didn't like it as it gave him a lot more vibration. It may be an auto vs manual thing but I didn't not get any added vibrations.

I had no additional vibrations from the trans mount. I am hearing a humming right now while my foot is on the throttle after installing the rear diff inserts. I will need to back out and re torque those.

During the meet on Sunday I decided to install the @u2nelson strut tower brace. Installation was a breeze and it comes with all the hardware necessary. It even added a bolt to a previously unused location. Haven't driven it hard since install but it seems to have reduced the body roll and improved steering response. Will try a bit more spirited cornering this evening and report back. Pics to follow as well.

Update, the strut tower brace is fantastic. I barreled into a rotary (roundabout for some of you guys) and floored it. Car stayed surprisingly flat and seemed like it had the ability to lay the power down better than before. I braced for the corner expecting to usual pull and it was just not there like it was before. Highly recommend this part.

    Dagree 5+, right?!

You could add a UR strut bar for even more stiffness and say "f that" to the $450 alu kreuz.

Crap I knew I forgot something this weekend. I'll snap this when I get home.

I masked everything off. It is pretty easy to take off if you are feeling inclined.

Podi, same as you. Don't get overly excited about my sway bars. They are just OEM sport sways. lol

i like short cuts, just like what i did wrapping my center console.

so im opting to masking and putting something behind the grill so i dont coat the radiator with dip.

also if i do, im dipping the fog light covers as well to match.
