    Popped the intake in:

    OEM Air Box Out:

    Left front tab in position:

Right front tab in position, another guy unfortunately broke his tab holder, so I was very careful:

    All done:

I tired to run the hose under the intake, but it choked the hose. (if you look close you'll see the vacuum hose still unattached, didn't snap a pix after, too lazy! haha)

With the windows down, it kind of sounds like I have a BV instead of a DV now and the turbo spool is louder.

Glad I'm not the only one with both. LOL At first I felt a little silly, both sedans, both similar-ish in stock power. But they really are vastly different cars in feel and performance.

RS4 Avant and a TT-RS would be mine technically. LOL

Admittedly, My TT-RS & S3 are no longer comfortable Daily drivers... So my perfect Garage would be, TT-RS, RS3, RS7, & Q7 TDI. Unfortunately, that would mean my dogs will have to eat cheap generic dog food for the rest of their lives, and I don't think they will approve, not to mention my daughter will insist on me upgrading her Audi A4 as well... LOL

How would you compare the feel/performance between the two?

S4 rockets off the line, S3 is slow until 3K rpms, S3 needs launch control to have fun off the line, S4 doesn't. I sometimes get that losing your stomach feeling with the S4 when flooring it off the line.

In stock form, redlining the S4 is uninspiring since they cut-boost up top (fixed with a tune). The S3 pulls hard to redline stock.

S3 has immediate turn in, feels more light and nimble.

S3 has some annoying omissions, the sun visors are fixed and don't telescope, missing driver seat memory, advanced key only works on the front doors.

S3's LED headlights are awesome looking at night.

In its stock form, the S3's behavior at its limits while cornering is not fun, anything but balanced, but I hope to correct this with coils and alignment. I have a feeling after that it will be great. The S4 has the sports diff, which corrects understeer and pulls the back out, giving it a much more balanced feel even in stock form.

I have a B8 S4, so the tech is more different between it and the S3 than a B8.5 would be. Can't say any of the tech is much more useful, its mostly just more polished. I did like using the google maps's street view to find an exact building location once though, so bonus points there.

Lots of great info here. Love the garage pics and your choice of car colors. How does the ride quality compare between the two, although I am guessing your roads are much better then here in Michigan.

Any more photos of the S4, love to see a side shot with those wheels !

Thanks! Click the /S4 in my sig to see that mod thread Ride quality between the two feel similar, the S3 has a little more road noise, both drive/feel like an Audi though, that is, smooth and refined.

I know how that goes, I have an 07 Mustang that I haven't stopped moding in 9 years. Always changing something, I can't think of any car that we have owned that I left as is. This is our first Audi and so far I am very impressed. Do love your S4, considered an S4 but we just fell for the size of the S3, really about the same size as our 2012 Focus 5dr MT. But with lots of luxury and performance features IMHO.

We wanted one car with an Auto and can't think of many small sedans with a decent auto.

^^ I liked the S3 because of its size too! Love zipping around in small cars.

Just replaced the 17.5mm spacers in the rear with 10mm to match the front, didn't think about it before getting them, but the wider rear ended up promoting more understeer, now its more neutral and still looks good to me.

Sill waiting on the EDC Cancellation Kit so I can get my coils installed, man its taking forever! Can't wait to get rid of that wheel well gap.

Since my exhaust is getting installed next week, I disabled the infamous soundaktor. The below VCDS coding worked for me, use at your own risk though. I prefer the real engine sounds I can still hear versus the fake induction noise from the soundaktor. DSG still farts of course

    1. A9 Struct. Borne Sound
    2. Adaptation 10
    3. Select "Channel of structure borne sound actuator" (only one)
    4. Change to the value you want, stored in %, I set mine to 0.
    5. Use the suggested code for change approval.

^^Thanks! I ordered it from Excelerate Performance the first day it came out!

I'll get some better pictures tomorrow after her drop, but here's some quick shots of the exhaust:

A quick video of starting up and revving:

(use headphones with good bass and turn it up! Disclaimer: the exhaust is not broken in yet)

Also, while 034MOTORSPORT was installing my exhaust, I also got their dogbone mount installed:

... up and down shifts are definitely firmer and I didn't notice any additional noise or vibrations, the shifts are a little harsher when getting on it, but I don't notice any harshness under other conditions.

Lastly, this arrived in the mail today, it will make my intake install look cleaner by running this hose under the intake:

From AWE about when the valve opens/closes:

"We have concluded that valve operation in the S3 is dependent upon two things, throttle angle and load. Valve is always open at idle and closes after engine reaches ~1100 RPM. Valve will only open while vehicle is moving if two conditions are met, throttle angle exceeds ~75% AND engine is above 3500 RPM."

Matches my experience from today, I noticed when the valve opened around 3.5k rpms with some decent throttle in manual mode, the sound level changed suddenly, sometimes with a burble sound.

Some other impressions, the exhaust is louder than my APR/CORSA exhaust on the S4 below 5K rpm, but the APR gets much louder after that. I can't get enough of the DSG fart now. Its a great sounding exhaust in my opinion, as someone whom mostly likes just a little rasp and an exhaust that is only really loud when you floor it.

^^ Thanks, I'm really loving this color, the blue metallic looks great! ... and far easier to maintain than black!

From yesterday, my car is the one on the lift:

The car is dropped now (perfectly I think), and going around a corner feels right, the tail will want to come out instead of the front plowing, and I even got a little four wheel slide going today (closed course in mexico) where the back came out just a little first. I think it will be even better after I get an alignment with more negative camber up front, and possibly a rear sway bar in the future. The PSS10s ride better than the magride suspension, less bouncy when compared to dynamic mode. I have them set at '6' all around right now, I might experiment with '7' later.
