Dave's Q5 3.0T build thread

Got it in late December 2014 and 3000 miles later and it's time to make a build thread... such a great vehicle. I'll post the things I've done as well as cool pictures time to time. Love this car

When I first got it

The following day I installed a USP intake

Winter toys-

After some VAGCOM mods. (disable DRL wink, Needlesweep, windows up/down, emergency braking, and other things I forget)

After I installed an aluminum pedal set ($55 via Amazon, great buy!)

Carbon s/c badges ($46/each via Amazon)

20% tints

+ Ziza yellow fogs ($24 via ECS tuning)

Next up I will be installing h&r sport springs, 12&20mm spacers, GIAC stage 1+, and exhaust

Wow Dave she's coming along nicely sir!

Did you disable LED DRL dimming with parking lights on? They look really bright in that pic (and look great!)

Also, FYI, GP Auto is a unitronic dealer... Just sayin... May want to talk to Gary about it if that's who's putting your springs in... He said he'd flash back to stock free before any service visits for me... Just food for thought...

Haven't adjusted any light settings. My only VAGCOM mods are enabled-Needle Sweep, Laptimer, windows up/down, and emergency braking, and I disabled- DRL wink, and seatbelt chime/nav warning.

Here's a pic of her loaded and ready for our trip to Induktion Motorsports tomorrow. Can't wait!

Haha that's a my bad Jeff, my android camera has seen better days. I wanna upgrade to a Galaxy S6 (the only S6 i can afford) but you guys know how it is, Car>everything

Also because I'm at 34,850miles I decided to play it safe and postpone the tune+exhaust until after my 35k service (thursday morning @ Audi Arlington). But don't worry I am hoping to be finished by the weekend so I can show it off at CPT meet :)

It's goin down right now, can't wait to see results.

Oh, and try launch control. Its a BLAST!!! Out the gate isn't much but each upshift slams you into the seat!!! HAHAHAHA

No more monster truck :) Ride quality is fantastic! Not harsh at all. Basically same as stock aside from it feels much more planted as there is no bouncing around.

Dave, the Q looks fantastic! I can only imagine the smiles from the mods you've done.

Except for yours now being faster, we have some yin-yang action going with our identical Q's. We need to meet in Kansas or something for a photo shoot.

Thanks for the kind words Jerry. Haha well you know how it is, this car is great!...and these latest mods only increase my smiles and giggles, stage 1 really unleashes the true potential of this beauty. absolute effortless acceleration.

Dave, did you end up going for Scottisha's exhaust setup? I'm thinking about doing the same for mt 3.0T A7 and wanted to get an opinion on drone, any issues, etc..

I have the parts, just waiting until I have free time to get it installed. From the few people I've asked there isn't much drone. Keep me updated if you beat me to it!

New shoes are on! 21" forgestar FC-10's. Big thanks to our friend Vic (osideaudi) for the wheels, and elite motorsports for a proper job mounting and balancing the tires (atturo az850's).

I installed my intake within 24 hours of owning the car

Whine is the same but I think it revs out a bit faster

@ryan- Sweet!! can't wait to see how it sits. VagCom mods are great, metup with a local AZ'er through the regional forum and he helped me get it done.
