    Since then I've strayed but have been lurking the forums ever since I got rid of her...

    But today I stand before my fellow forum members to proudly say that I'm back... (and still a sucker for silver)

    No LEAKS or Oil Burning (until now)..

    I'm the 3rd Owner, clean title no accidents or signs of over spray etc... over 12k in receipts

    plus a set of 16" ASA winter alloys with decent rubber...

    No rips or tears on the inside other than rear headrests (split at the seams) and what appears to be the beginning of the dreaded sagging headliner... Owner deleted the CellPhone

    exterior?... well it's rusty to my eyes but it was hard to find a 93 that wasn't... tell me what YOU think...

    I Needed tires so I swapped out the set from Silvia's, so currently she sits like this..


    Immediately took her to the Dyno 250whp/283lb ft... seems pretty healthy



    In the endless pursuit of power I swapped in an RS2 Turbo, OEM RS2 Injectors, and VEMS




    Enjoyed it for a week or soo


    Then Came this Weekend
    Hit while standing still AGAIN!

    Time to get crack'n on my BBK setup that's been collecting dust on the "bench"... Only air was used in this process for removal of pistons. Nothing else was needed to pry the dustboots off or removal of seal...

    Everytime you get hit you get back up even better. I'm waiting for a few more posts where it turns in to a R8. Car looks nice. I've lately gotten in to red though silver is great looking.

    Right before final tightening...


    I'm trying to minimize hacking of the bumper so I'm think of this 3" core might help in that department along with the slimmer endtank profile. So I'm hoping the .5" height difference might slide behind it easier or (with the higher placement of the inlet/outlet) slide it under without having to trim.

    24" bottom length end tank to end tank

    ~33" endtank to endtank & the install manual states the top side of the endtank is 21"

    Aparently the previous owner of the bumper had an Apikol FMIC based on the existing trimming...

    Here's an update on the Bosectomy, enjoy!

    Run wires to the door Blue for Highs, Clear for Mids, twisted pair for tapping into the preamp level before the Bose amps...


    Custom mounting bafle made out of a couple kitchen cutting boards... light, sturdy, strong & weather proof...


    We're not blessed with door mounts, instead the speakers mount to the panel... like so


    Stock tweeter mounts have to be cut open for usage as the stock system didn't use anything there


    Scrape plastic epoxy off

    I used those brackets that come bundled with plastic mini blinds for home use... a couple bends and this is what you get

    What's it weigh?


    Not bad at all for over 1700 RMS watts of quality power IMO

    New Clutch Description:

    So after an extended break from the project (read:holidays...) I decided to pick up where I left off...

    A while back I had tried different recommendations for cleaning carbon deposits... Some worked better than others but all left me wanting... Yesterday I figured I can do better and took myself to a local Autozone... They suggested the typical, seafoam ect... When at the bottom of the shelf I spot this...



    Something about the cheesy yet simple label caught my attention. It was also on sale so I took the plunge...


    Comes with a handy dipping tray...


    Results...








    In short, I'm reasonably pleased with the results...

    Head Break Down





    And off we go onto block assembly... Weird things are happening at my job, the gave me another day off today. Hopefully it's not a bad sign, but regardless I can use the much needed time....


    Looking at the block, it could use some dressing up... Any tips out there for painting cast iron on a budget?











    Just shot the 1st layer of paint.... I'm not 100% on the color after it's been sprayed on the block.... It's more bronze than dark metallic gray...

    Do my eye's deceive me?

    Anyhow, some assembly got done today on the block... I wanna emphasize on "some" because it would've been done had the oil squirters had been picked up with the block... I had sort of rushed in and out when I picked it up...

    It's all about timing... luckily I was able to keep that Silver car as a parts car for like $400... the rest was put towards Rubi... the motor I'm building is off the Silver car...
    In essence it's just a Rod Build on 7A cams... that's not much $$$ at all... I had the PTE5857 from another local UrS part out and just sent it out to PTE for the PTE5862 CEA upgrade ~$500 ... the most cash outlay on parts is "supporting" mods, ie. V-Band tubular header, downpipe, & machine work adds up quick. This is doing all the work myself too...

    I picked up my tornado over the weekend as a DD, but man I keep seeing this and wonder if I should build the Ur or my b5 s4. The turbo is so accessible compared to my b5 lol and it's taunting me.

    Looking to piece together a little Side Mount fluid cooling section for my car, similar to the one AutoSpeed version




    Possibly with some sort of ducting to the oil side...


    The Question is, do we NEED to oversize it over 3x over the stock 7row in order to keep things in check on hot days with spirited driving?

    Swapped out the .64 for a .82


    Pump gas numbers revealed a bad slipping clutch...We managed 374whp at 23.5psi but on 93 using a .82 hotside, 90*F ambient,

    Based on some reading, I think the cause for excessive grease would be an explosion of el DMF... But I'll pull more components apart and take better pics to see what you guys think...

    From the 5 options discussed on QW I can Rule out:
    #2. Engine oil passing through the rear crank seal
    #4. Loose bolt machining a hole through the bellhousing and into the transmission, letting tranmission fluid into the bellhousing


















    Those that have had multiple clutch setups...
    Is it true a 707 PP requires more pedal effort while holding less than a Twin Disc? (Pick a brand)
    However the engagement of TwinDisc is a lot more twichy (on/off) in comparison?

    I'm a sucker for lighter daily driveable clutches but I need a reliable setup for my driving style.

    The current setup is a Southbend Stage 4 dual ferramic disc on a stock DM Flywheel in an EDU 01e. Say we need enough clutch to put up with whatever this billet 58mm can put out in a 20vt "tractor motor"...
