RS6 Extended Warranty - Recent Costs

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I'm picking up a 2021 RS6 on Friday, 38k miles. I was quoted $4900 for 3 years/60k miles, $0 deductable, 3rd party extended warranty. Is that average for what people are getting these days? Anyone get any specific ones that are recommended? I read through a bunch of posts here and on other sites and am confused on what is offered by Audi versus not. Just curious on what others have paid recently.

I recently went with factory protect.com which is a Fidelity plan. I researched the Audi plans but they were much more expensive. Turns out my Audi dealer also sells Fidelity so it’s not unusual that they would cover claims. My car is a 2021, has 18,000 miles and I went for three additional years with a $250 deductible and the platinum plan which I paid $3002. Attached is a link on which you can plug in your car, mileage, and Vin number. It will give you a variety of options and all can be done online without any inspection or talking to anyone. Listed is my referral link.

I chose this plan because it allows me to go to a variety of service centers and not just the Audi dealer. Also, it was about half of the cost of the Audi. Pure protection plan.

Last year I signed up for 9 year/80k miles/$250 deductible Platinum coverage from Audi for $6588. Ended up being $274.50 monthly for 24 months with 0% interest. Not sure how that benchmarks but it felt good to me

Apparently Audi Pure Protect now only avail at purchase on RS6s from Jan 1 2025. New policy. Not sure if true.

Which extended warranty did you get? Does the 10 year include the 4 year warranty out of the factory?

I'm getting a few quotes of the extended warranty. Are there any companies that you would recommend?

I think it comes down to three; Freedom, Fidelity, or Audi. I’m looking as weak.

I just got the Audi Platinum for my 21 RS7. I added 2 yrs and 20k miles (so 6 year, 70k plan) and it cost $3500 with a $250 deductible. I called around to about 5 dealers and got prices from $5500 down to the $3600 that I paid. It definitely pays to call around. The dealer I bought it from said they just put $800 markup on their cost.

Can you share the dealer you worked with? Not a bad price.

Audi Rocklin in Sacramento. It took some negotiating though. I also got a similar price from Audi Rancho Mirage.

Got a quote from Endurance for my 2021 RS6 with 35000 miles.
Supreme Coverage with additional 4 years/60000 miles with $100 deductibles for $5148 or $185/month for 30 payments.
Better price than Fidelity but I will get a few more quotes to compare.

Recently paid $7,100 for a 10 year/ 120k warranty w $250 deductible. It's the Audi Pure Protect Platinum warranty so basically a continuation of the factory warranty that kicks in after year 4. So an extra 6 years and 70,000 miles.

Used an Audi dealer in Socal after getting nothing but BS and misinformation from Audi Greenville of SC. I definitely do not recommend them.

Save your money on these outrageously priced warranties because if your vehicle hasn't had any major failures within the factory warranty period, then all that money saved from wasting it on a warranty can be used for any future failures, but more than likely you'll get rid of the car and trade up for a new one before that time comes so why even consider throwing said funds away on a warranty???

I disagree substantially. These cars are prone to issues and when they arise, they are very expensive. Warranty is always subjective of course, but cars like AMG's, RS's- need a warranty in my opinion. If you have money like that to not flinch on a $10k repair bill, sure- self insure even though I would still outsource that risk.

Exactly this. I always extend to the maximum length of oem warranty on my European cars as one or two issues and you're already in the green. Our Range Rover back in the day got an entire new engine (4.4 from BMW). IIRC correctly that repair was c.17k and the LR warranty had cost me $3k. It's not a case of being able to afford repairs or not, it's about mitigating costs to a level that makes financial sense for each individual. For me it allows me to enjoy the cars long term without having any battles with a dealership which is always both unwanted stress and time wasted.

I bought a '22 used RS6 and added on a 6 year 100k mile coverage through Allstate with $100 deductible which I negotiated down to $4400 and it's transferable fwiw. I still have a little less than a year factory warranty remaining and then this kicks in.

Wow, I was just reaching out to them(Audi Greenville). I got a quote from Audi Northlake, they quoted $12500 for my 2021 for the same level of coverage you have.

Damn, $12.5k seems wild to me. I thought I was paying too much for mine. They originally were trying for $5100

My mistake on my reply, I meant to click/ reply on a different post. That amount was for 10yrs, 100k, Audi Platinum.

I did a little bit of research into the extended warranties and there are a couple of things to look out for:
    - Be very specific about the coverage items. Even the Audi Pure Protection Platinum has some excluded parts. Don't be caught by surprise when you find out the repair is not covered.
    - The aggregate coverage limit is also a key metric. Audi and Fidelity usually offer up to the ACV (actual cash value) of the car, but some contracts have lower limit.

If you don't need roadside, towing or rental car coverage (I get mine with my car insurance), I've found Fidelity Gold to be the lowest cost decent coverage.
