Hi there,
I've had an issue for a couple years now that I've searched a lot but not found the issue.
My car went for an oil change, and mistakenly wasn't drained, then overfilled the oil which led to attempting a hydrolocked engine which absolutely fried my starter motor. The issue was supposedly fixed however since being 'fixed' my automatic start stop hasn't worked. The mechanics replaced the starter, but the car kept throwing the code. They supposedly checked the relays which were all in working order.
The only issue is that it gives that code, starter activation, return message terminal 50 short to ground./open circuit.
The symptoms are - start stop doesn't work, and I need to hold my finger on the ignition for the car to start and oddly start stop works just fine if I clear the code after starting the vehicle and everything works as it should. However I'm coming up to selling my car to move overseas and it gives and EPC light, and is just a bit unsightly, especially when asking for 40K+ for a vehicle.
It's my first time posting on a forum, so if I've left out any information just ask, and I'd thoroughly appreciate any help or ideas that anyone has cheers.
