Considering RS6, need help with trunk dimensions

Hey everyone! I’m thinking about selling my Porsche Cayenne and switching to an RS6—I really miss that sporty, car-like driving feel. The only thing is, I still need to maintain a decent amount of cargo space. I was hoping someone could help me out with some quick measurements of the RS6’s trunk. I tried Googling, but all I’m finding is the overall capacity in cubic feet, which doesn’t really help me figure out if my daily cargo would fit. If anyone could share some details, I’d really appreciate it! Thanks in advance!

What type of daily cargo are you hauling? When I took my Rotiforms in to get mounted, I had all 4 of them boxed and in my trunk and still had space. I happened to measure it yesterday with the seat down and it was 6ish feet to the back of the front seat. I can get more specific if needed.

Thanks I have an idea then. I would love width and depth (from metal plate to the back seat).

Its mostly kids sporting accessories. I have a collapsable wagon that I use get from the parking lot to whatever destination, but when collapsed its about 40" wide still.

    I have a 2024 Cayenne S and an RS6.

The RS6 trunk is longer, but not as tall.

Unless you're hauling a lot of tall items, the RS6 trunk may actually be more practical.

I went from a Cayenne GTS to an RS6, trunk is bigger in the RS6, no issues at all.
Do it and enjoy. The RS6 is on an other level entirely.

Are you really not going to buy the RS6 if the trunk is a bit different? Do you use ever cubic inch of the trunk in the cayenne that often?

44" x42" with the seats up. 72"×42" seats folded. Roughly 27" high. My Great Pyrenees has to stoop to fit but my Saint Bernard can stand up straight.

We also have a 2023 Cayenne and 2024 RS6. I agree (and know for certain) that the RS6 trunk is longer than the Cayenne by about 3-4”. I think the bigger issue could be the size of the hatch opening, and I’ve never measured it. The hatch opening is the limiting factor if the trunk space is adequate.

Oh this is great, thanks everybody. Those that have or had both the Cayenne and RS6, thoughts on the rear legroom? I see similar legroom specs but from pics of the RS6 rear seats I feel like my Cayenne has way more legroom.

I had a 2016 Cayenne diesel, 250,000kms on it when I sold it.
The rear leg room my kids say is similar. SUV you sit upright and it’s a box, so it feels like it’s bigger in the back I think. The RS6 is car like and you sit angled in the back with your hips back and legs slightly raised. My 14 year old is almost 6’ and has no issues in the back, but my younger one preferred the Cayenne, but she ain’t 6’, lol.

You should see what I've done to protect the car from the dogs. Very big dogs=very big very strong claws. At max capacity I have 320# of dog with me. 160# St. Bernard, 120# GP, 40# mutt.

Right now I've just got a Lloyds mat which I love. But wanting back of rear seat protection and maybe the sides too but something that doesn't velcro to the car upholstery as it'll fuzz it which defeats the point. So the dogs are stick riding in my Land Cruiser 200 series for right now.

But truck size the RS6 is pretty big, one of the reason I bought it. I have a 75 lb pit and a 155 lb Cane Corso.

In our 2023 Cayenne, the rear seats are able to slide forward & aft (manually) and also have a recline lever that allows them to go from very upright to several inches of recline. Hubby says this is standard in the Cayenne rear seats.

Note that we have 14way seats in front. If you order 18way seats in front, it changes the profile of the bolsters in the rear which doesn’t allow the seats to fold as flat. On the occasions I’ve ridden in the back, it’s perfectly fine. I’m 5’4”, my husband is 6’ and he finds it adequate in the rear seats for leg room and head room. Obviously if you have tall folks in the front seats and they move their seats back, the rear leg room is dependent on front seat fore-aft position.

I’ve also ridden in the back of the RS6 and found it to be very comfortable. The rear seats are fixed and either fold “flat” (and lock) or are upright and locked. But I found them to be comfortable (not too upright nor reclined). It’s personal preference.

We opted for the comfort seats in the RS6 which sacrifices the beautiful stitching, but you gain front passenger seat memory, plus more adjustability, plus the rear seats fold flatter because the side bolsters on the seats aren’t as pronounced. I wish we could have had comfort seats AND the “fancy” stitching….but they only offer them in the simpler stitching pattern.
