    Help with spacers.

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I have a 2016 c7.5 audi s6 with the huge brakes. It's got the 19inch snow package ugly wheels on them. I purchased some rep wheels 20x9 et30. I plan on putting on 275/35/20 tires. What spacers to get for the front and rear. Thank you!

Are you asking if you need spacers, or just because you want them? Are you lowered?

IMO you do not "need" spacers. If you want spacers, my suggestion is to fit the wheels on the car and measure what spacers you'd want for your personal preference.

Example: Audi OEM rotor wheels are 20x9 et26, and on the 6 series, is a great fit with 255/265 tires, while also being at the max backspacing/offset. The 275's you plan on using may have fitment issues, if lowered.

    2016 A6 3.0T / Premium + / Glacier White on Black / S-line / Sport Package w/ 20" wheels / No Mods - TOTALED

Thanks for your reply, I dont want spacers if I don't need them. I have summer pilot sport 4s right now at 255/40/19. I had issues getting traction so I was hoping to get a 275 tire

I would not jump up to 275's, I would stay with 265/35's

Side note: You shouldnt have traction issues with those tires in stock car form, or even lightly modified - great tire. Unless you were running them in near 40degree temps. The tires cannot see anything below 40degree temps, per manufacturer. I would check your tire pressure

Sorry I should have clarified. I meant while doing launch control 3000rpm stage 1 IE tune. I don't lose traction in normal or even sporty driving conditions. One time it was like a 100 degrees out and I did a lunch, no tire slipping whatsoever and I managed my best 0-60 time of 3 seconds flat. I can't replicate that normally because I'm spinning.

    All good.

Holy smokes, were you driving those in the winter here? I had those same tires on my S6 and drove them during light snow once... That was terrifying. I ended up blasting a huge pothole on 96 near novi and destroying the tire and rim and that was more or less a blessing... I put DWS06 on it and now I'm not terrified on slick roads and rainstorms anymore xD

My A7 is on KW Coilovers and pretty low the previous owner set it up. If I go over a speed bump to fast it lands hard on the body, doesnt drag usually. I tried putting my A4 spacers on my A7 they were 17.5 MM I got some scrubbing on the factory setup for 19s, so 255/40 R19 I think the ET is 32 if I remember right.. it wasnt bad, I took them off, I am waiting to get a set of 15 mm's
A7 ECS intake, ECS belly pan, APR coil packs, KW coilovers

B8A4 (RIP) ECS silicone intake tract kit, turbo muffler delete, Euro charge pipe swap, DV+, CTS catch can, APR coil packs

A7 and 6 series have completely different wheel arches and fitment tolerances. 7 series can fit wider wheels and more offset.

    Update.

I went to discount tire and we ordered Michelin pilot all season 4 275/35/20. And new black lug bolts to match the wheels.

Here's a link of the wheels I bought

    https://wheelplususa.com/products/au...12f1f8af&_ss=r

They said not to worry they'll get me right even if they have to provide a refund. My gut tells me I'll need 5mm spacers in the front to clear the brakes and maybe some I'm the rear to match.

BTW yes I am still on summer ps4s in 15 degree Michigan 😂 I just go to the gym and back and sometimes a friends house. I have a different vehicle for work.

You get to use longer wheel studs and then you can say "mine is longer than yours"... Heh heh heh

That is WILD! haha. Not sure the logic there, but you should really look at getting the right tire for your area. God speed.

In terms of wheels and potential spacers: I bet you don't need spacers at all to have the wheel fit and clear the brakes. Rubbing because of the tire size you chose, for the wheel spec, might be a different issue.

ohh okay thought it helps with handling...speaking of handling what is the best mods besides lowering the car? I like the OEM height but want stiffer handling maybe installing swaybars, upper and lower strut mounts, and rear ones too

Just left discount tire and the wheel does hit the front brakes. He told me to buy 5mm spacers for the front to clear it. Now I'm wondering do I get matching 5s for the rear too. Hmm

Think Feng Shui. If you are putting spacers up front, it should be all around. Dont forget: 5mm spacer requires 5mm longer lug bolts

Since you have an A6, I would think adjustable coilovers are a very viable options, in addition to sway bars and end links. Searched the forum yet?

Good analogy. I ordered for the front and back spacers 5mm and the bolts also in a apr spacer kit from fcp euro. Thanks everybody for the support as I've never changed wheels on a vehicle before. Will post pics in a few days when it's all said and done.
