    Steering Wheel Heater

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hello all.

I have a 2021 S4, trying to turn up the heat on the steering wheel.

OBD11 wouldn't do it, it just said failed, customer support couldn't do anything.

Carista, although it changed a lot of things, won't bring up the steering wheel section in the app.

    There customer service people wrote:

"Unfortunately, I can tell you that your car doesn't support the coding for Use steering wheel temperature"

I believe my software on the car is up to date, does anyone know if the dealer or a mechanic with a different machine can make the adjustment?

    Thank you.

    Thank you.

Are those headings found on the more expensive readers a mechanic or the dealer would have?

I don't recognize seeing any of those descriptions on the OBD 11 or Carista readers.

I sent the OBD 11 back, it wouldn't really do anything, the Carista at least let me turn off the Auto Stop and a couple of other things.

I used OBD11 to adjust the heat level on my 2019. Not sure if that functionality is hidden behind the subscription (I have one), but suspect it may be.

As mentioned above, you will need a tool that can navigate and code VAG-specific functionality. VCDS and OBD11 both do.

You have to open the hood when you do it as well or it won’t work

I used OBD11. You don't use the apps, you go into the adaptations and make the changes.

Had the OBD 11 and bought credits, I managed to get my heat for my seats increased. Ran a complete scan, saved a backup and sent it through to customer service. After that, I would click and hold the icon like they request, it would just come back failed.

Ignition on, hood wide open, nothing I tried would work.

On the Carista, I managed to change a bunch of things, including getting rid of the Auto Stop.

Returned the OBD 11 back to Amazon, wasn't impressed.

Sounds like you don't understand how coding works. You never needed to buy credits.

I bought the "free" OBD version that you had to bought a credit to make a single change. According to their customer service, their product would not support changing the steering wheel temperature.

Perhaps you could give them a call and straighten them out.

I bumped mine up to 36 degrees and it's still not anywhere warm as it should be. Need to try bumping it up some more to see if it actually generates any decent heat. This can be done with VCDS. Thread:

Have you checked the temp of the steering wheel compared to the setting?

Thank you for the help, I have already purchased two readers with no success, I am just going to wait until I take the car in for service and hopefully they can do it.

Thank you for your reply, I could tell on the OBD 11 that it was set right in the middle of the available temperatures, just couldn't do anything about it.
