    Fly fishing's SQ7 build

I just picked this up for my wife. I ultimately want to tune and do exhaust, but I can’t void warranty yet as it’s family car. She had a q5 3.0 stage 2 prior and we had exhaust mod so that’ll happen one day 😁 I’ll see if she wants lowering links also.

So far, I’ve had matrix lights unlocked by NPG, Thule evo wing rails, euro oem aspherical side mirror glass installed, euro performance wire tap for dash cam and radar and blacked out the amber reflectors with 3m glossy vinyl. I usually buy e codes, but it’s too expensive for this car. I also had a stealth hitch installed; you can’t see it and there is no need to cut or replace rear valence. Here is the link for 3m glossy vinyl that matches the black optic trim very well:

    https://amzn.to/3YTiKGk

I have 10/12.5 mm spacers coming and will replace the fog light switch with euro one to enable rear fogs.

My other cars are stage 3 s7 (RS turbos) and APR supercharged v8 s5 with 6 speed manual. Almost 1700 hp between the 3 😁

Boom just ordered new oem switch from eBay.de.

I find it ridiculous that US cars don’t typically have this enabled — guess Americans don’t know when/how to use rear fogs.

Got spacer installation appt this Friday! Booom.

    ---

Not really a mod, but I’m proud of my purchase. Found on facebook marketplace where my sister lives, a brand now privacy cover and oem trunk mat. Got them both for $70 brand new!!

Then I grabbed an old Audi cargo net that doesn’t fit the anchors in the sq. So I used a heat gun to warm the plastic and bent them so things would fit.

next are spacers and then prob convince my wife for lowering links. 😁 hopefully I will get my new rear fog switch to install over thanksgiving.

Spacers installed! Looks so much better!!

10 front and 12.5 rear. Got them from mops at nemesis Motorsports.

still patiently checking my shipping for rear fog switch from Lithuania 😁

    ---

2 more pics. Pretty flush look with 10/12.5 22” et26 if I recall. I have not had to remove that fender bolt so far bc I have not heard running on dynamic.

Second pic is the grandpa version of the Lambo engine. The s7 has rs7 turbos and tune; that’s oem rs7 front end too. It’s faster than sq7 rt now bc sq is not tuned.

    ---

Transmission mount insert installed. I have 034 on my s7 and then randomly bought a knock off one on Amazon for my q5. I saw no difference be 034 and knockoff for double price. I put knockoff on s5 too and it works great.

so I bought this cts mount on ecs tuning for half of 034. If you look at 034 mount, this looks beefier imo.

very easy to install as long as you can reach it. I did use rubber mallet to smack it in quicker. I used thread locker bc 034 supplies it with theirs. Drove it around and just like my other cars, shifting feels more crisp and defined. I don’t hear more noise or vibration, but also didn’t with other cars.

now I’m just waiting for fog light which will be next week’s install!

Thanks for the comments. I don't believe it is Audi exclusive -- it's just a more rare color. The car has red seat belts too and red stitching which is pretty cool.

Yessssss switch finally came. Will need to find time Friday night to install. Would rather do install then do something social Friday night! 😂😂😂

Looks legit OEM. I have ordered a lot from sellers from Lithuania and never have had any problems.

Here was screenshot of video I made when every error code flashed when matrix lights unlocked 😂

Ceramic coating done today! Wow, it really makes the sakhir gold pop. Had wheels coated too for easier brake dust removal.

For anyone in Austin, TX, I’ve used Taurus detailing multiple times for paint correction and ceramic coating and they are always the bomb. Owner is a class act and results are impeccable.

Yessss finally had time to install rear fog switch. Took about 20-25 mins. Hardest part was removing main trim piece — I found using the right angle plastic tool was the easiest tool versus using the flat end which I use like 99 percent of the time. Now I have rear fogs!!!

Thanks for the shop (Taurus) for detailing. So many to choose from and everyone "claims good work". I'll see you around the city at some point

Also I've been waiting to pull the trigger for the rear fogs. Really upset we don't have them factory here in the US! Looks pretty easy to install? Did you have to enabled them in VCDS/OBDEleven or did ECU recognize the signal automatically?

Yeah I've used Taurus multiple times before and some good friends of mine have too with great results. I'm happy with them and will use them indefinitely.

Yes super easy to install. Watch this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E8dNagNIE5s

Took me 20-25 mins for me to install. Nothing to enable. Just replace switch, power on and car will recognize it.

I always find PDR fascinating. Dent took 5 mins for the guy to do and was under $50!

If you’re in Austin, The Dent Repair Shop is the bomb!!!
