    Remote Start Recommendations

Does anyone have any remote start recommendations for a B9.5 S5?

I've been wanting to install a remote start unit in my S5 since I got it, four years ago, but I haven't been able to find anything yet since then. I've read a lot of stuff of remote start units that involve an app or spare key inside the car but that's not really what I'm looking for. I'd be more so willing to install a remote start unit that preferably works with the actual OEM key I use and that's it (besides whatever module/tech needs to be installed in the car). The idea of leaving my spare key in the car for remote start kind of seems to defeat the purpose of having a spare key for me. Any recommendations would be appreciated! Open to recs on modules that involve apps too just not any with the spare key route.

    Thanks!

All remote starter kits for the B9 and B9.5 cars require using a spare kit in the remote start module in order to deactivate the immobilizer. I purchased a additional spare fob from the dealer and had them program it so I still have 2 keys. You can't use a used fob. They can only be programmed once. Several people here bought used fobs only to find out they were only good as a paperweight.

The remote starter kits will let you use your OEM fob to start the car or an optional fob. Some also work with an app on your smartphone.

Not the cheapest solution but super easy to install if you know how to use a socket and follow simple directions.

I also got the App Module and the app works great.

I installed the Drone remote start on my 2018 S5. It does use the second key FOB to work properly but without the battery installed. I am the only to driver of the car, wife refuses to drive it. IF I were to lose my key, I can unlock the car with the Drone phone app. Retrieve the “spare” key FOB, install the extra battery I have in the console in be on my way. I can use the key FOB to remote start the car but not from a great distance. From the phone app I can start it from anywhere.
