Not to mention the high cost of coming up with a turbo that will work for this. If I wanted something this painful to upgrade I would just buy an S8 and bend over.

Curb weight is ~4,300lbs. The brakes are single-piston due to MHEV regen-braking capability.

US model will weigh less due to no MHEV and likely have larger piston calipers.

If the DSG is as good, or nearly so, as PDK plus VG turbo and liquid intercoolers, responsiveness just might be good enough to overshadow the ho-hum power pump over the B9.5. Staying single turbo seems weak to me though - the whole rest of the turbo V6 market, including junky Ford trucks, are twin turbo.

MHEV not coming to the US (https://media.audiusa.com/releases/615 - "no MHEV in U.S. market") so no worries (I don't think) of being under braked.

Hey, at least it's not as bad as the M-B and its abysmal 4-cylinder AMG cars.

Watching VW/ Audi roll out "New Models" gives me flash-backs to the VR6 GTI Era, the Pumpe-Duse Era, the B7 A4 Era, the B8 S4 Mechatronics Era and so on.

Failed this and that and broken this and that and TSB's and Recalls etc.

I wouldn't touch this generation of Audi for at least 2-3 years.

The s-tronic (it's not a Volkswagen) is the same DL382 basis as B9. The 4-cyl are using the same DL382-7F (0CK) and DL382-7A (0CJ) as B9. The DL552-7A for the 6-cyl is just an update of the DL382+ (0HL, used with the 3.0T in C8). As for PDK, you have to be clear if you mean the Macan PDK (which is just the DL501-7A from the B8 era, but in -7A using the Magna transfer case instead -7Q using a Torsen center diff) or the Panamera PDK (which is a ZF product).

All Audi V6 and V8 have had the chains on the back for 20+ years? Why would they change that now?

The B10 A5 gets only a glass roof, no more opening. B10 Q5 appears to keep the normal panoramic sunroof. The driver seat manner of operation should be identical to the Q6 e-tron, same door panel controls, same steering wheel controls, same dash layout and underlying control systems. Don't know if there's more real owner usage review out there of the Q6 yet.

The brakes seen so far are only 323 and 338 and 360 fronts, all single-piston floating. And 300 (solid) or 350 (vented) rears, also single-piston floating. 323+300 floating would be no different than the B8 A model 320+300 floating (57mm front piston, 43mm rear piston). And 360+350 is much larger than the same floating caliper config of the B8 S model's floating 345 (57mm) + 330 (43mm). US A5 2.0T will probably just get 338 front, same size as B9 A model. Could be they have more brake configs to add once the mainstream 2.0T (not the b-cycle version seen so far) is finally presented?

Audi has to reduce the emissions of the entire range of cars that they sell or else it won't be legal to sell them.

Literally had zero excitement watching that video, exhaust sounds like shit. The interior is flat, the front end has lost all its curves…..so sad to see. Time to park up my B9.5 and watch its value rise.
