    anodized exhaust?

    I have the blackout thing going on with the car and lately was entertaining ideas of exhausts. Well thumbing through eurotuner I saw an add for black universal mufflers. I am not interested in retrofitting some piece of crap onto my car but was wondering how black mufflers and exhaust pipes might look. I have never seen it before and was curious.

    i think it would depend on the colour of your car, the type of rear bumper you have, and the exhaust... let everyone know what you have and then maybe photoshop it.

    May be a dumb question. But can you take an exhaust system, say, magnaflow and get it anodized? If so what kind of place would do that? Also, would the anodized exhaust tone sound different than the original exhaust tone?

    Bumpers are stock painted silver.

    yup, Krylon high temp paint.... but then you've only got a choice of flat black, or gloss black....

    as far as annodized, you could just paint the exhaust black, and get an aluminum black annodized tip, bu the tip would have to be a bolt-on since you can't really weld alu to steel....

    in either case, a black exhaust would be awsome.

    I have a Oettinger Cat back on my Jetta and all of the Stainless Steel piping as well as muffler box (they use Remus) is powder coated theremal dispersant black, the tips are polished stainless however.

    How did the powdercoat affect the tone of the exhaust? damn that sounds tempting.

    I am getting my lowers painted right now (thanks to ins.) when I get it back I will post pics to show what the exhaust will be going on.
