RS6/RS7 Dash Rattle

Anyone with RS6/RS7 dash rattle? I feel like mine rattles from driver's side speaker, HUD surround plastic, center display and entire LED display across front dash. I did not expect that out of a high-end car... Previous Audi, BMW and Honda's don't make these rattles - but maybe the car is, otherwise, so quiet I never heard the rattle of other cars.

My experience has been that most noises/rattles are typically my fault. coins, keys, kids stuff in the back, garage door opener(not the car's), items in glovebox etc...
Audi engineers spend a lot of time eliminating rattles and they have it pretty nailed down although there are noises at certain frequencies that cause issues when the pavement is rough.
It's not perfect by any means and some are probably worse than others but my car has been pretty good, no big complaints.

This happened to me. I picked up my 24 RS6 and was like OMG what is that rattle. Ended up being the speaker covers in the doors. There is a TSB I believe for this. This could be your issue. After they put the felt tape on the covers rattle fixed. This could be your issue. Happens on the RS6 and RS7. Search for speaker rattle.

Mine has a rattle/buzzing vibration from the little storage cubby on the drivers side. When I put my hand against it the buzzing stops.

My wife has some rattles on her S8 at the top of the lower screen. Dealer addressed it and it is better but other areas seem to pop up off and on.

The highlihgted section below is the cause of my rattles/creaks. Its a very bad design, its plastic on top of plastic with attachments points that allow for too much movement when the car is flexed. Then you have the one piece HVAC trim that soaks up heat all day and then cools quickly as a single piece when you run the AC and that will creak as well across the entire lenght.

I chalk it up to the designers handing the engineers a complicated trim design that looks great but is a pain to execute in a production environment with minimal budget to do it right.

I have sat in and had various C8 loaners and almost all of them have had some sort of noise coming from this area. To other points, yeah the speaker grills are garbage as well when it comes to sound resonance.

Yes its a high end car, but the interior trim pieces are still of the same design and build quality as the 2.0 4 cylinder A6 models that they are giving away right now! I am not excusing them, cause it pisses me off too, but this is just a very high level version of a middle market car.

Try some of the mercedes of recent years though, they have plastic on plastic creaks that would drive you up a wall!

Mine had a rattle in the shifter/cupholder area. Had several trips to the dealer already. They replaced the air vents and cup holders, but the rattle is still present. It's only noticeable on rough roads, but still very annoying. No guarantee the dealer could fix it but it's free under the warranty.

yup. and its really really bad when car is cold after sitting at -10C for a few days.

Same issue on my 21 Avant. Dealer address during 48v gen work last week. Better but not gone. FYI, informed last week that Audi only covers rattle noise for first 6 months. If you dealer is supportive they'll put a few hrs in to it. Agree......... 140k car that rattles more than my Toyota with 170k. WTF!!

I have had my RS6 since new and have a rattle in the passenger side speaker during certain volumes/frequencies... not fixed (yet).

Have also had a very annoying rattling that comes up during regular driving in the center of the dash above the center screen. Have had Audi look into it, but they can "never replicate it" (eye roll), when it is in the shop. But I think it may be from when I pull into/out of my drive way/cold garage and the whole car flexes as I turn out (it is steep).

I have recently moved to Florida... and have not been paying attention enough to see if the rattling has been going on, as I can't really hear it over music/exhaust.

It is annoying to have creaks and rattles in a $150k car... but also I have seen $5mill Koenigsegg's throw check engine lights and rattle to hell on almost every drive... sooooooooo Idk.

Dealer fixed mine on AoA’s dime this past week. Nearly perfect for a very heavy car on huge wheels in the Chicago area with crummy, pothole filled roads.
