    S7 O2 sensor codes errors: P2096, P2196, P2198, P2272

Just wanted to ask if I should go ahead and replace pre cat O2 sensors or if there is a bigger issue (cats are bad).

I have a '13 S7 95k miles and I had the P2196 show up couple months ago and then it went away. Now I have more codes showing up!
I think I'm outside of the 10y/100k miles warranty extension, so I would have to purchase 2 O2 sensors $400 each?

Thank for all the help and knowledge in advance.
If you had similar problems and was able to fix it please share what it was.

Codes that showed up and short description from google:
P2096: Post Catalyst Fuel Trim System Too Lean Bank 1
    P2196 Code: O2 Sensor Signal Biased/Stuck Rich (Bank 1, Sensor 1)
    P2198 Code: O2 Sensor Signal Biased/Stuck Rich (Bank 2 Sensor 1)
P2272 Code: Oxygen Sensor Signal Biased/Stuck Lean (Bank 2 Sensor 2)

With both upstreams and one downstream indicating rich, and the other downstream indicating lean, I think you have more diagnosis to do. Do you have something like VCDS to do a full scan?

    Edit:

Here's an interesting TSB which could be related:

I don't have a VCDS unfortunately. What would be my troubleshooting steps if the exhaust doesn't have any leaks?
Thank you for the link, the O2 sensors are about $100 each so not too bad.

What brand are the $100 sensors? I am not sure what others will have to say about 4.0T, I have not had to put any O2 sensors on this engine yet. I have not had the greatest luck with non-OE O2 sensors with other VAG vehicles though. Not saying they won't work but I would search the forums to see what other's experiences have been.

I replaced both of my post cat o2 sensors with NGK sensors, no issues. They were around $100 each.

Audi does not make o2 sensors, NGK and Bosch do.

Do you know who the OEM is for this generation of 4.0T? I might assume that because the spark plugs are NGK the original O2 sensors were as well, but I have no idea.

Its probably NGK, i didn't look at it when i took it out. You can probably look at the sensors on your exhaust and see if they have branding on them other than just VW/Audi.

Before you start shotgunning parts at it.... think.

$200 for a rosstech cable, or $400 for new O2 sensors that may or may not solve your issue. It will pay for itself over and over.

Get o2 sensors from RockAuto. Also, are you getting horrible gas mileage? Think I gotta change mine soon. I’m averaging 12mpg.

Those are priced really well and thank you @Burkeomatic I might just get that cable for $199 for 3 vins, it's not too bad even though I wish I bought it 5 years ago, planning on upgrading my car soon...
@Jvyn 12MPG is pretty bad unless that's city driving and a lot of hard pulls.
    I'm getting about 15 city or 18 mixed city/fwy.
