How can I tell what battery technology my new battery is using ?

Hi. just changed my MK3 TT battery. The new battery part number is different from the old. New battery is 000-915-089-J-DSP. I changed the serial number in VCDS and left everything else the same. i wanna make sure I set the right battery technology type in VCDS. Old battery tech was set to "wet". Any advice on how to find out of the above part number is "Fleece" or one of the other types is appreciated.

000-915-089-J-DSP does not look to be an Audi or VW part number...
what brand/type of battery you are talking about? all mk3 TT's use AGM (=fleece) batteries

It's a Varta battery just like the original. It also has the "eye" that lets you see if the electrolyte level is low so I think the tech is "wet". I don't think my TT MK3 used AGM cause the factory setting for type was wet.

I have 2 TT '16 and '19 in US and they are both with AGM batteries.

mine is a 2018 US TT. My battery has the “eye” and does not say AGM on it and I can hear liquid sloshing around in it and my car does not have a stop start feature. factory CAN setting was set to “wet”. these are the reasons I’m thinking mine is not AGN.

I have yet to see a thread that explains how changing anything in VCDS actually changes the charging routine for the battery. Lots of suggestions but when testing settings with various batteries from Antigravity to super small AGMs nothing really changed. Odds are if you replaced like for like then you are good to go.

I see it's been a month this you bosted this so it would be good to know if all is well.

with VCDS you can change the battery type (wet, agm etc) and its A/h capacity, in this way the alternator can recharge the battery properly
