Wheel lock key...any way to find out which one I need?

I bought a new S5 last week with wheel locks. I looked through the whole car and can not find the wheel lock key. The dealership is 2.5 hours away. I called and talked to them but it might be a while, if ever by the sound of it, that I'll get the key.

Is there any way to see what key code it is that I need? There is a sticker on the spare with 557 stamped on it which is a key Audi makes, but it's a gamble as to if that's the number to the lock or not.

As far as I know, if this is a key from Audi, then you need to visit the dealership and hope that they have a full set of keys to try.

A tire shop recently lost my key (from Audi) after my tire service, and I had to visit the dealership to match a key. Then it cost about $110 to get it. The tire shop paid for it, but this was the process.

I wonder if they put the key in the bag with the jack, or alternatively, placed it under the panel that's under the rear seatback area in the plastic tray where the other tire changing tools are located. You have to lift the trunk mat up and look forward of the spare tire/battery well for the plastic tool tray. Also, I think there should have been two keys provided if the locking lugs were an option ordered with the car. One other place to look is in the cubby on the lower left side of the steering wheel, where the owners manual is stored. It might be possible that the dealer tech who did the pre-delivery inspection (PDI) neglected to provide the key(s) after prepping the car for delivery. The dealer should be able to ID the tech and inquire what was done with the key(s). Maybe they're in his toolbox!

I thought that too, but I looked in all of those places. I called the car lot, three times now.

Wow... I should probably use an aftermarket key then... Damn, thieves can buy these too.

There's even ways to get it off without being keyed correctly. They might have been security back when they first came out. But they're only useful against random vandals now; actual thieves will know all the tricks and already have all the tools for the target.

yeah I know, but it isn't as obvious as those factory ones. If they want your car, wheels, or whatever, they will take it, unfortunately.
