    Injectors

    Hello All -

Last year, without the foresight of reading up and searching on this forum, I replaced an injector that got damaged during my PCV/injector cleaning project with a Bremmen injector from ECS. The price was right but in retrospect it seems I've only signed up for the problems that I'm having.

As you might expect, I get an air/fuel imbalance code on that cylinder now and occasional misfires on start.

I am now in a position to replace this injector and need to know - will a Continental injector be OK or should I just suck it up and pay the extra hundred and go OEM to completely avoid another issue?

    Thanks.

This is a timely post for me. I am about to embark on the pcv, t,wp intercooler, SC oil, walnut blasting venture. I was thinking I should pull the injectors and either have them cleaned or maybe replace. I was looking at the Bremmen injectors on ECS website and curious if they were any good. I guess you answered my question. I'm wondering what mileage you were at when you replaced it. Research I have been doing seems to indicate that the Continental may be the oe manufacturer for Audi, but I could be wrong. I have seen injectors advertised as oe and they have the Continental name and the Audi rings on them in the photos.

Curious to see the replies to this .

Fcp has the vdo injectors as oem. Both look identical and both are made in Italy. This is what I found for MY 13 anyway.

I just bought a set of six Bremen injectors and the car ran like DOo Doo. PSA to all audizine members!!!!!! Stay away from these garbage Chinese knock off injectors!! ECS has the audacity to sell these knowing they are complete garbage. They are not flow matched correctly at all and will run like crap. I put my old injectors back in and car ran perfectly.

Rock Auto sells "Standard Motor Products" injectors, they are the Continental injectors. I bought them based on the advice from others on here. Unfortunately it looks like they've gone up a bit in price, they were around $150 when I bought them.

I ended up stopping by my local dealer yesterday and talked with the parts guy. I was honest up front that I intended to buy from FCP but if he could get close on price I’d buy from him.

He beat their OE injector price and was within a buck on the PCV tube. He said ETKA says you have to replace the support, too, and I bought that from him as well for a few cents over FCP’s price. He couldn’t get anywhere near the price for the upper or lower manifold runner gaskets nor on the injector seal kits - he wanted $40 a kit where they’re $13 from FCP.

In the end he gave me a choice of Audi hats to pick from, too.

It was a surprisingly positive experience and I’ll definitely stop and ask in the future when I need something else.
