Christian from EnfigCarStereo here.
I've been in the Audi/VW car audio world for almost 25 years now. I know the B7's inside out. I'm going to answer as much information as I can in this post but feel free to post up any questions or additons.
If you have a 2009 Convertible pretend you have a 2008. The sedan and wagon were the B8 body style but the 2009 Convertible was still a B7. The Convertible was not a B7 until 2006.
Figure out your radio
RNS-E navigation
The RNS-E was an option on all B7 models
All RNS-E navigation radios either had a CD changer or an iPod dock in the glove box
These radios use AUD3 wiring harness when replacing your radio
If you are adding a Bluetooth adapter they use an AI2 adapter behind the radio or a AUT adapter in the glove box
SYMPHONY II CD and cassette radio
Standard radio in 2005.5-2006 B7 models
Never had a CD changer or iPod dock in the glove box
These radios use AUD2 wiring harness when replacing your radio
If you are adding a Bluetooth adapter they use an AU2 adapter behind the radio
SYMPHONY II+ 5" tall CD radio
Standard radio in 2007-2008 B7 models
These radios use AUD3 wiring harness when replacing your radio
If you are adding a Bluetooth adapter they use an AI2 adapter behind the radio or a AUT adapter in the glove box
SiriusXM
All US cars had the SiriusXM Tuner wiring in in the trunk on the left side behind the plastic part in the trunk.
Video of location Part 2 Enfig AUDI SAT PASS 2 installation - Keep Satlellite radio when ading iPod or aux
If you are replacing your radio you can use the Enfig SAA-SIR600 to connect to the factory antenna in the trunk. You cannot reuse the original tuner but you can reuse the antenna. This cable must be run from the trunk to the new tuner behind the radio.

If you are adding a Bluetooth adapter behind the radio it will disconnect the SiriusXM audio. When using the VW-T glove box connection the SiriusXM audio is not disconnected.
If you do not have a glove box connection your can still keep your SiriusXM. By running a wire from the radio to the SiriusXM tuner in the trunk.
If you have and AUD2/AU2 radio the Enfig AUDI-SAT-PASS1 will allow you to keep you factory SiriusXM.
If you have and AUD3/AI2 radio the Enfig AUDI-SAT-PASS2 will allow you to keep you factory SiriusXM.
GPS antenna
All US B7's were prewired to SiriusXM. Sedan and wagon had the Sirius XM antenna built into the shark fin on the roof. This antenna also has a GPS antenna. On cars with RNS-E navigation the antenna is run all the way to the back of the radio. If you car did not have a GPS radio from the factory the cable is ran from the shark fin but not to the front. The wagon has it on the drivers side behind the SiriusXM tuner. The sedan has it on the passenger side next to the rear window. The convertible does not have a GPS antenna if the car does not have a factory navigation radio.
You can use our GAA antenna adapter to reuse the GPS antenna with your new radio.

Use this extension if you need to extend the cable in the back

AM/FM antenna
The B7's use a window mount AM/FM antenna wit ha booster.
Sedans have it on the rear window. The booster is on the top of the drivers side window. Its know to go bad.
The wagons have it on the side windows. I think each side has an individual antenna booster under the window.
I think the convertibles have the booster built into the trunk lid. (I have to look it up)
Speakers
Sedan and wagon have 6.5" speakers in the doors and a subwoofer in the trunk.
Convertibles speakers?
BOSE Door speakers are 2ohm
Non Bose door speakers are 4ohm
The subwoofer is ?ohms
All cars also have a center dash speaker. (if you are installing an aftermarket radio and your sound is cutting out you might have to disconnect this speaker but only on non Bose cars.
Amplifier
Sedan/Wagon
Bose all speakers are amplified. Subwoofer is tied into the rear speakers.
Non Bose Rear speakers and sub are amplified. Front speakers are powered off the radio.
The signal coming from the factory radio is higher than any aftermarket radio can put out. We add the HILO box to our Audi harnesses to fix this problem.
Convertible
Bose all speakers are amplified.
Non bose if I remember all but front tweeters are amplified.
Aftermarket Radio Installation parts
All of our parts include our HILO box. Even if your radio has 5V outputs the RCA levels are too low for the factory amplifier. Our HILO box fixes this issue. You don't have to replace the factory speakers or amplifier to get good sound out of your B7.
Wiring harness - Connects to your cars original harness and terminates into an ISO connector.

Adds steering wheel controls to the boxes above. The box above has the steering wheel controls built into it but you need this cable to activate them. We have zero problems with your rolling steering wheel controls.

This converts the ISO connection into a connection specific to your radio. This allows you to conect from the main harness to your new radio without cutting a single wire.

Antenna adapter - This converts your 2 antenna connections into the universal connections most radios need.

This our radio mounting kit. It matches the factory dash pretty close to perfect. We do not have a cheap kit for this because they all look bad in our opinion.

To use factory Satellite antenna you must run the cable to the tuner in the trunk. You will still need to buy a new tuner this is just to use the antenna.
