So it's leaked a day early. Wow...all I can say. IMO Audi really sh!t the bed with the B10 (at least in A/S5 guise). Design looks SUPER generic and bland. Not enough of a change in the power department. Bigger in every way (assuming weight will increase a fair amount as well). The longer wheelbase will likely be nice for comfort and stability, but definitely not sportiness. No Avant in the US (personally don't care about this but I know a lot of you do). Interior is modern but I don't know...generic again.

    HOLD ON TO YOUR B9/B9.5's!!!!

Completely agree, the new design is bland and has the front end of a mustang and the rear end of a Kia. Also, not bringing the S5 Avant to the states is such a misguided decision, especially with the demand for the RS6 proving that there is a market for wagons in the US. The only thing holding many people back from buying an Audi wagon is the price of the RS6 and the lack of sportiness in the allroad. A middle-ground wagon would most definitely sell. Will be keeping my B9 for the time being, hopefully the RS5 Avant makes it over but not holding my breath.

RS5 Avant has already been spied testing here in the states.

They also tested the S5 Avant in the states, just because they test it here doesn't mean they're gonna sell it here unfortunately. Death Valley and other locations in the US are just really good places to test the durability of the vehicles in different conditions. Hopefully they do bring it over though!

The Ars article confirmed no Avant for North America.

I’m reading the S5 will retain the same 3.0 V6 and the RS5 will keep the same 2.9 V6 and go hybrid.

So basically these cars have absolutely no chance vs the M340i and M3 when it comes to performance.

    Just wow Audi. Lmao.

Hybrid C63 was a complete failure sales wise, rumors have it that they’ll be bringing the V8 back in hybrid form.

Writing has been on the wall for Audi

-switched S4/S5 to diesel in Europe (lmao)
    -killed R8
    -killed TT lineup
-killed coupe for new 5 lineup (one of their most iconic designs)
-no powertrain improvements to the new RS3
    -no powertrain improvements to anything.
-absolutely ridiculous changes to the S and RS badges

BMW is unfortunately the only option left out of the German trio for enthusiasts.

The interior isn't ugly but it's annoying how they went all in on touch. We saw it coming with the A6 but they arguably took a step backward by not giving climate control its own screen like in the 6. I hated the system so much in the mk8 GTI. The only way it becomes a little less irritating is if remote start carries over.

The headlight controls going to the driver door is interesting too. There was no problem with them in their current position. Good to know I'll be enjoying my B9.5 for years to come.

The screen layout does not look good at all. The curved square display in the BMWs looks way nicer.

I never thought I’d see the day Audi would fall behind a BMW in terms of interior.

High roofline, slab sides, same door handles. Looks like the 4 Series Gran Coupe.

It's easy to look at those negatives you listed and immediately start dismissing the brand but here are some answers to those points

-switched S4/S5 to diesel in Europe (lmao)
Agreed. Weird move, but from what I've heard, quite a lot of people and Europe actually liked the move. Regardless The B10 wont have a diesel S variant.

    -killed R8
Unfortunate but necessary. The V10 couldn't exist anymore with all the regulations.

    -killed TT lineup
Also unfortunate but necessary, they didn't sell that well.

-killed coupe for new 5 lineup (one of their most iconic designs)
Agreed, some of their best work but they didn't sell well.

-no powertrain improvements to the new RS3
There were tweaks to the software that made the car go from an 11.9 1/4mile to an 11.5 and I've seen the new RS3's hit 0 to 60 in 3.3s. it may seem like they perform just like the previous gen based on the small 5hp bump, but they MOVE. Also, the RS3 almost didn't exist because of all the emissions regulations. I'm just happy Audi kept the 5 cyld and didn't make it heavier.

    -no powertrain improvements to anything.
The new B10 A5/S5 have brand new engines with new turbos, heads, cooling, transmissions and waaaay more. Audi hasn't completely given up on combustion engines just yet.

-absolutely ridiculous changes to the S and RS badges
Cant fault you there. Not sure what they were thinking BUT... They are reverting those changes after a bunch of people signed a petition to bring back the old badges. All thanks to "Auditography" on Instagram and YouTube for making it happen and confirming that Audi has listen to it's customers. It'll take some time for those changes to be reverted because of regulations but It'll come soon enough.

Why oh why are they making the front bumper with those GIANT bumper inserts? The B9.5 had them (even though they were a bit smaller) and they were absolutely disgusting unless you got the Black Optics package, why would they make them even bigger? The B10 looks disgusting. Audi did a terrible job.

I just watched the auditography video. I actually really like the look of it. I like that it still looks like a sedan but incorporates the sportback liftgate. What I don't like is the entire dash is screens.

About what I expected, no improvements to the engine, hybrid bullshit, more weight. Interior is in line with everything else on the market, screens everywhere and touch controls(awful). Don't care for the exterior for the most part, especially the front bumper. Probably will have to wait for the mid-cycle refresh to fix that.

This is such a cliche car forum thing to say to justify my now dated but newish b9.5, but I'll be happy with my b9.5 for many more years and have no desire to buy the b10. I bought my b9.5 on the expectation that the b10 wouldn't improve on much given the company's focus on EVs and I was right. It doesn't seem improve on anything other than more modern technology in the interior and the touch controls are a huge step back.

    - 7speed S-Tronic (DSG) with attached powertrain generator (48V)
    - Quattro Ultra = FWD with on-demand AWD rather than 40/60 full time AWD on previous generations {probably Haldex}
    - two small water to air intercooler
    - as it looks on the available pictures, single turbochager with VTG
    - 1 piston caliper as back on the B8

FWIW the new RS5 hybrid powertrain is rumored to have 600+ horsepower. Toss a tune on it, and it could make 750-800HP.

Has anyone managed to tune a mild hybrid Audi platform yet? There hasn't been a tune released for the A4/A5 B9.5 with mild hybrid.

    rip a4/s4/rs4. ='(

To me, some Audis just don't look as good in static photos, this one looks better in the video and definitely with black optics to hide all the front end design details that look designed in isolation by different teams, or forced on the designers to incorporate.

I do like how this looks more like a sedan than a "fastback", they kind-of merged the s5/s4.

Don't care for a hybrid system, had a feeling that was coming, but a lot of us braced for worse and hunted down our last all internal combustion engine cars that we are keeping forever! haha.

"ultra"/haldex vs torsen quattro is only noticeable to me when I'm allegedly "breaking traffic laws". It reduces the argument for getting an Audi vs the other AWD offerings and being FWD first is not that appealing, but doesn't make much of a difference most of the time you are driving.

For the interior, at least the screens are separated and the driver's side has some resemblance of a cockpit.

It is pretty disappointing Audi decide not bring the S5 Avant to the US market. No word if the A4 Allroad— now the A5 Allroad, will be returning as well.

The sport seats were already cooled and heated in B9. You mean the S sport seats? It's hard to tell if there's one, two, or three seat variants to be in the B10. Maybe they dropped the standard sport seats?

Sport seats, sport s seats...whatever the single back, integrated headrest, "bucket" seats were on the B9. They were not ventilated. Heated yes.

Either way, B10 gets a one piece bucket seat that's ventilated. Big win.

I still want to see a B10 in person before I pass my final judgement, but here is how I feel about the content posted here.

    Exterior
The B10 didn't take the title of ugliest car from the Aztec by any means, but I'm not excited about the exterior design. I don't hate it, but I'm not seeing any "wow" factor that makes it stand out from the crowd.
I don't care for how the radar/ACC modules are integrated. I'm no t a fan of the huge horizontal section for them. I get that there are limitations on what they can do, but it just looks awkward.
I was pleased to see that the front logo did not end up half outside the grill like how the spy shots looked (maybe I am thinking of a different model?).

    Interior
The only thing that excites me about the interior over the B9 is the cup holder placement. I do not like all the screens. Other than that it looks nice.

I still want to see an RS version since that is the only trim level that interests me anyway. Hopefully they inject some testosterone into the design. If not, then it will make me even more happy that I have my B9.5 RS5 Comp.
