    P0113 signal too high

Hi fellas I'm recently suffering with this code with my 1.8t BFB and it wont seem to go away:
    16497 - Intake Air Temp. Sensor (G42) P0113 - 002 - Signal too High - Intermittent

few months ago it wasnt triggering CEL so I left it, but recently its been popping the light

    I replaced the sensor
I've checked the connector, even replaced it, pulled and checked the harness no physical damage to and from the sensor/ECU
I also checked the harness with a multimeter for both continuity and voltage drop all good on this end
ECU looks good physically no damage, ECU box doesnt have any water ingression, but could it be that my ECU gave up?
maybe a resistor that converts the 12v to 5v has given up?

I'm looking to get a donor ECU and see if the code still registers, but any idea is appreciated!

Have you tried cleaning or replacing the MAF? Try that first.

How did you get to the MAF from the air intake sensor? (It's the internet--tone is impossible here--I'm only asking because I assume you have some reason to suggest it that is perhaps not obvious unless you've experienced it too.)

Would it make sense to disconnect the MAF and test it that way first?

krazeedrivr has a 3.0 engine. I'm pretty sure the IAT sensor is located in the MAF housing on non-turbo models.

I have 2 A4s, a 3.0 I'm swapping to a 2.7 and a 1.8T AMB. The IAT is upstream of the MAF, and if IAT is already replaced then downstream sensor could be an issue. Just tracing the issue backwards since OP checked wiring up to ECU for IAT. I would at least clean it with MAF cleaner, but if you have VCDS I would try to check its readings before unplugging it as a test. I've read a couple threads with persistent IAT codes resolved from replacing MAF, but I'm not coming from experience on this one.

Hi thanks for the reply, it did not cross My mind to check on the MAF as the IAT for the 1.8t is on the intake mani, but now that You mentioned it My MAF was recently replaced with a reman Bosch through their 'recycling' scheme here in Europe.
I just dont remember if the code started appearing before or after replacing the MAF, but thanks goodness I still have the old MAF with me so I'll give it a go.

Assuming the old MAF was good, maybe the intake air is just too hot or something? Have you checked your intercooler plumbing? Maybe you have disconnected pipes, or a popped IC.

Problem seems to have been solved:
Thanks for the response and still trying to help out
I assumed that since its a 'signal' too high that its an electrical problem, intercooler is good, I've actually removed and cleaned it as part of my by-yearly plumbing clean up, everything is sealed I always check the plumbing with my DIY boost leaker checker (blanking pvc pipe with a tyre valve + electric pump and soapy water spray)
anyway two months from not driving the car my battery light started flickering intermittently, the original alternator regulator brush has worn out almost below spec needless to say its about to give up so I replaced it and for some reason the code does not show up anymore!! the weird led flickering off my boost gauge disappeared as well, seems so weird that an alternator regulator brush might have been the root cause of these problem, but it it could also be a placebo, but I'm not gonna complain about it

Replaced an alternator myself recently on my 1.8 FWD B6 for a worn out slip ring while chasing a parasitic battery draw. German cars can definitely be picky with voltage, so would not be surprised if that was it in your case. Hopefully it stays fixed!
