Did I get a good deal on my 2024 RS3?

Hi all, new here. Just bought a RS3 and am wondering if I got taken for a ride...

3K under MSRP ($68,193) and $37K for my trade-in (2023 S3 with 9k miles and 6K of unrepaired accidents. Carbon, package, tech package, black optic and Daytona gray. 4.9% APR too. This car is a *beast* and so powerful and fun to drive. Now wondering if this is a good deal or if I severely undervalued my trade. Thanks in advance.

$3k under MSRP.... $37k for an S3 with $6k in unrepaired accidents.... and you want to know if you got taken for a ride?! LOL

A 2023 S3 with 9k miles on it in "fair" condition on KBB.com shows $33,000-36,000 on a trade. I'm not quite sure $6,000 in damage is even considered "fair" condition, but KBB won't let me select "poor". Trade-in value for "excellent" condition is $37,300 - $40,400. They did not "severely undervalue" your trade.

I'd say you did just fine.

They also gave me free gas for a year and treated my whole family to lobster dinners for the foreseeable future. My trade in - surprisingly they just let me keep - so I guess I think I got a good deal but I don't like I didn't get a free mug from them after all was said and done. (bit let down there, kind of ruined whole experience tbh)

Should I keep the car or return it? I'm so conflicted.

The dealer ultimately has the last word. You got a decent deal but many dealers wouldn't sell below MSRP because there are 20 people on the waiting list waiting and willing to pay. My own 8V RS3 sold after 5 years at the same dealer for $57000 and it cost me new $61.5, someone was willing to pay like 95% of its value on a used car basically 5 yars old, out of warranty and with 27K miles.. don't ask me how but I met the new owner that purchased my old car because I gave him some free stuff and also sold him minor things.


There are deals out there to be had. I always tell people to literally get into a quiet room, grab a big note book and start taking notes while making calls and annotate prices, dealers names, phone numbers references, dealers address, etc and compare.

You should have asked to purchase a sense of humor along with your vehicle. Anyone who has ever bought a car would know that you got an exceptional deal, yourself included. What you created was kind of a 'humble brag' which I found quite amusing, so I thought a bit of humor injected into the thread would be fun.

And yes I have the same car as yours and paid much more for it because of the timing and availability of them in 2022 :) But YOLO in my case and zero regrets else I wouldn't have the Kyalami full send version that I do now. (actually my wifes car) I am glad you got a great deal especially in California of all places where 99.99999999999999% of the time every single car transaction costs more than any other state.

If you did get this deal I would wager you have a personal connection to the dealership or something. You certainly didn't just walk in and strong arm them into such a deal lol.

Those ADM markups are silly. You can find these on show room floors at MSRP and have them shipped to your door for $1k.

People leave California to try not to get hosed on a car. Chances of this guy pulling this deal in California without being related to a GM of a dealership is about slim to none, being generous.

I just passed on one for 3K under in Oregon — no trade or other weird things where they’re making up the difference. The market is just totally different than it was even six months ago. There are a lot of these on dealer lots and they know the ‘25 is coming. I didn’t buy because I want to know the changes for the ‘25 before I make a decision.

Wow 3k off really is good. I paid MSRP for my 24 Kyalami last month but am happy with the car and packages, so all good. I haven’t seen any under MSRP in FL.
