CETE Active Exhaust Valve Controller...Is it Worth it?

Anyone have the CETE Active Exhaust Valve Controller installed on their RS6. Is it worth the money.
I did res delete (all 3) on my car and just wondering if getting exhaust valve controller will make a big difference or not.

It is very useful for keeping the exhaust sound consistent, but might be a little bias

If you do note the exhaust going loud/quiet when you really don't want it to the CETE controller definitely corrects that.

In stock and ready to go!

    Cheers,

In a word, yes. Got it installed almost immediately (Europrice sourced) and ran with flaps open 100% of the time with the OEM exhaust and kept it when switching to an Akrapović exhaust. Still keep flaps open 100% of the time. Car sounds great when cruising, no drone. Then roars when car is punched. Wouldn't have it any other way.

Also put it on our '19 RS5 as well...same setting, 100% open.

Thanks for the input. I assume it's easy to switch off (close flaps). In other words on cold start early in the morning I can switch the flaps to closed so as not to bother the neighbors (or keep open if I want to piss them off...lol).

it is. The CETE app is easy to use to make changes on the fly. Just have to be sure not to set the flaps to closed all the time as this will damage the engine apparently.

There are two ways to close the valves for startup with a standard module:

Website Link: CETE Audi RS6, RS7 C8 Exhaust Valve Controller Package <-Click Link for More Information

    - Turn electrics on, set drive select to Comfort or an RS1/2 mode if you have the exhaust set to subdued before startup or if you have the CETE memory module installed you can have either of these set at shutdown as the car will startup in your last drive select mode.

    - Turn electrics on and double tap the ESP to flip the position of the valves.

Or as Pwdrskr notes the you can also go with the Programmable setup and you can flip the valve position with the app if you want instantly or you you can build a profile that has the Auto drive select keep valves closed up to higher RPM (safety enabled).

CETE products on the Europrice website will have instructions in PDF form to download at the bottom left of the product pages. You do need to be logged into an account and if you don't have one registering is super quick.

These will give you an idea of the installation which isn't all that terrible, but it does all depend on experience working with these cars in general.

Ah, forgot there were two CETE models. Thanks for clarifying Alex!

FWIW, I thought being able to control the module via app was a must have. I like having visual confirmation of settings, etc.
