I’m looking on-line at an RS5 sportback with the RS dynamic package with dynamic ride control. I’m assuming that’s the adjustable-coil overs. My question is does that package make the car ride a lot stiffer than if it didn’t have that option? I’ve watched a few reviews where it’s been said that that package is stiff and bouncy even in comfort mode. I love the car and I’m thinking about making an offer but I was just hoping for some feedback. Thanks.

The RS dynamic package with dynamic ride control does NOT use adjustable-coil overs. It is bouncy, best compromise is leave it in Auto mode.

If you want OEM Coilover suspension then you need to buy the Competition package model option.

The OEM coilover Option is similar to KW V4 COILOVER KIT BUNDLE Part #: 3A7100CJ

"Competition package with standard brakes $10,300

    20” 5-Y-spoke design wheels, bi-color phantom black finish, milled-cut
    Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires
180 mph top track speed and Sport direct steering
Coilover suspension system with front and rear sport sway bars
RS Sport exhaust system with matte black tailpipes
    Red brake calipers
    RS carbon matte inlays
Matte carbon front splitter, rear diffuser, and exterior mirror housings
High-gloss black exterior trim, black Audi rings and badges
Pearl Nappa and Dinamica Seats with piano black front seat side trim
Alcantara covered steering wheel, shift lever, and center console
Seatbelts with red edging, RS logo floor mats with red edging"

When I enter the Vin number on Audi, USA owners manuals, it comes up as adjustable coil lovers
When I enter the Vin number on Audi, USA owners manuals, it comes up as RS sport suspension pro adjustable coil lovers. Call the dealer and they said it is not a competition model.

I lowered my 21 Audi S5 coupe with KW height, adjustable shocks, and I love the ride(firm but smooth, not bouncy). But I’ve never ridden on coil lovers. Not sure what to expect.

The RS5 choice is bouncy DRC (Auto mode is tolerable) or OEM Competition coilover option or aftermarket coilovers (ABT may be the best bet for softer coilover ride).

I can see that VIN WUAAWCF56PA900738 on Driveway.com It it does NOT have the Competition option: https://app.velocityautomotive.com/w...ation/c80f3a40

So I guess the adjustable coil overs are a separate option.

2MS is the standard fixed suspension.
2MC is the DRC adaptive suspension.
2MD is the adjustable coilover suspension.

Don't waste time random guessing and just look at the vehicle identification sticker to confirm which the vehicle was built with.

Interesting. I do not get the same screen when looking up the owner's manual by VIN.
Based on the screen shots the RS5 you are looking at definitely does NOT have the Competition package.

Also, in your original post you said it has DRC anyway.... "with dynamic ride control"

    My VIN.

I looked up the vin at

So, in your opinion, do the adjustable coil overs provide a smooth ride?

Well, if the road surface is smooth, yes. The stock coilovers on the Comp Package provide a firm ride, and a very sporty feel.

There are individual adjustments for low- and high-speed compression dampening, as well an adjustment for rebound dampening. The owners manual provides a guide as to what adjustments should be set-to based on the type of driving.

If you are looking at a '23 RS5 with the Comp Package, the early build '23s are the best value, because they included the front CCBs.

There's been a lot of posts on this topic. Read this comparison between the two: https://www.audizine.com/forum/showt...1#post15078190

    CCBs?
The one I’m looking at is an early 2023. Thanks for that explanation. That helps me out a lot. I appreciate it.

I have an RS5 SB with the Dynamic Package. It does not have coilovers. It has 3-way adjustable shocks that are controlled with a button and can be changed on the fly. The coilovers are better from a handling point of view, and worse from a comfort point of view. Here is a more detailed comparison:
