Thumbs up Speedcraft Garage's RS5 Build Vlog

Greetings Audi Fans! Just over a year ago I replaced my daily driver Lexus GS-F with a 2021 Audi RS5 Sportback with 12k miles on the clock, and I must say I’m enjoying the new ride much more than I thought I would! It is the perfect blend of luxury and performance. It really does tick all the boxes for me as far as a daily driver is concerned, and then some.

I’ve been into racing and modifying cars for over 30 years, so naturally I began modifying the RS5 only a week after purchasing it haha! I’ve been trying to vlog each time I do a new modification so that I can share that experience with those who may be interested in modifying their Audi as well.

In my most recent vlog I took the car to a 330’ drag strip to test out the 034Motorsport Stage 2 TCU tune, and had the opportunity to race a fellow Audi owner.

So, back to the beginning. The very first mod I did was a front resonator(s) delete, and 10mm wheel spacers. The sound difference was pretty mild before the tune, but a bit more noticeable after, especially in the crackle department. The spacers worked out great, and going with 10mm was the exact fitment I was looking for. Here is the vlog for the spacers..

Second modification was a Stage 1 ECU/TCU tune. I went with 034Motorsport for the tune, as I really liked their approach to tuning for reliability and performance. The difference was immediate, and with the crackle tune engaged the sounds made me giddy. I know not everyone like pops coming from their exhaust, but I do lol!

    Exhaust sound clip: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/1NygCJwbcvo

Next up on the list I installed a 034Motorsport X34 Carbon Fiber intake system. Not only does it look amazing, but now I can hear all the turbo sounds a lot better. (I love me some turbo noises!) I did a vlog of what the install was like and took it for a test drive to show off the cool sounds. Not the cheapest mod, but I really enjoyed the end result.

Then we performed a tire upgrade and installed a Carbon composite front splitter from TRC (Triple R Composites). The OEM Perelli P-Zero tires are good, but I really like the Michelin Sport 4S tires much more. I went with a 285 width for a little extra grip. I did run into little snag with the wider tire coupled with the spacers on the front. Going over bumps the tire was just barely rubbing on the fender liner fastener at the top of the wheel arch. I did a vlog and POV drive in the canyons to talk about both in more detail.

Now that we have more power, and I wanted to smooth out the feel of the transmission, so I installed yet another great product from 034Motorsport, a Billet Transmission Mount. This was a great bang for your buck modification, and I highly recommend it to anyone. In the vlog I go over the installation process, which was super simple, and then took the car for a test drive to give my impressions.

Next, because I can never be satisfied with how much power my cars have, I switched the car over to an Ethanol (E85) tune. I purchased all the necessary parts to install a Fuel-It ethanol content sensor for piece of mind, and vlog the install for that. After the installation I took it for a test drive, and did some 0-60 Dragy comparisons of 91 octane vs E85.

And my most recent mod to date was installing the Stage2 TCU tune from 034Motorsport. Again, another great mod that made an immediate difference in acceleration, and shown in the Dragy comparison in this video, which I also posted earlier:

That’s all I have for now, and if you guys have any thoughts/questions about what I’ve done so far let me know, and I’d love to hear suggestions for additional modifications you think I should do to the car. Lots more coming soon, so stay tuned!

The RS was was due for an oil change, and since I'm a DIY kind of guy I wanted to tackle the job myself. I had heard folks talking about what a pain it is having to remove the tray under the engine bay just to get to the drain plug, and based on some of my readings it seemed that going topside using a fluid extractor was the way to go in terms of ease. So, I did just that, and WOW did it make the job so much easier! I picked up an oil change kit from FCP Euro that include Liqui Moly oil, a filter, and a new drain plug. Props to those guys for offering such a great price on that kit. Also picked up a fluid extractor from Amazon, which worked great!! Anyone considering going the DIY route using an extractor I highly recommend it.

Made a video of the whole process in case anyone is interested

Also installed the "high grip" e85 tune, and did some pulls which you'll see in that video. Made the car quicker for sure! Also, just received the HPFP upgrade in the mail, which I'll be installing in the next week, so stay tuned for that.

Hey gang! Last week I installed the 034Motorsport High Pressure Fuel Pump piston upgrade into the RS5, and flashed on the Stage 1+ tune. It made a big difference in how the car behaves. Definitely a worth while upgrade. Here is a video I did of the install process and first driving impressions, enjoy!

Happy New Year everyone! I've been waiting for a few weeks for the Turbo inlet to arrive, and just received my Dynamic+ lower springs yesterday, and will be installing them this week. In the meantime I have been doing a bit of driving, and figured I'd share those vids with you guys in case you are interested. One vid is drag racing at Santa's Christmas Shootout in Perris CA, and the other is canyon carving. Enjoy!

I've seen on many occasions that installing springs can catalyze the failure of DRC. Be sure to keep us updated!

We'll see what happens, fingers crossed no issues arise! Photos after springs were installed:

If my DRC shits the bed, I see that as an opportunity to flip over to KW V3s.

My thoughts exactly. But I wouldn't run springs beforehand to rush the issue

I installed the new 034Motorsport Carbon Fiber Turbo Inlet pipe! Looks amazing, and is a good deal for the money. Here is the video I made of the install if anyone is interested.
