2020 A6 Allroad Complete Engine Replacment

    Hey team,

Super sad to report that when I took my A6 Allroad in for a dealer oil change they found metal in my oil filter. After dropping the pan they saw lots more metal...

I'm inside of my factory warrantee, so they are going to do a complete engine replacement at no cost (besides time).

Dealership said they have had 3 2020's come back for a total engine replacement due to the same base issue. They apparently don't diagnose further, as they deem it a waste of labor. Just pull and replace.

I have had oil changes done on 3k intervals with mild driving.

Anyone on a stock A6 (3.0T) have the same issue?

    Well,

I think it is good news that there are no replies.

I am hoping that my engine and date code was just a bad month of assembly and that everyone else is free and clear.

My new engine come in a week or so and another couple for assembly. Should have the car back by the early part of next month.

how many miles did you have? metal on the ea839 is usually from the teeth of the camshaft gears wearing out overtime. think i read somewhere that using 0w30 slows this down by quite a bit compared to 0w20.
