Audi Dashcam

Anyone installed the front and rear dashcam from Audi? Im assuming they are not wired from the factory and the price is just for parts and it would be a pretty big job at the dealer, Im not particularly keen on the dealer doing it either.

I know that you can spec your Porsche to be pre wired at the factory, pretty reasonable cost as well.

I have a hardwired Escort MaxCam 360c system that was less than that with a hardwire. No rear view but it is a radar system so it was a good buy for me. I knew this factory system was an option at the time and still opted for the Escort

I asked my dealer about the Audi dash cam and said that I had an iroad x10 in another car. Their response was “an iroad x10 is what most customers ask for and generally our preferred fitment”. They supplied and fitted the xroad before delivery. It’s been good. They didn’t baulk on the installation. That was just “included”.

I need to sort something out as ppl and roads where I live are a complete sh@t show. My G80 M3 has a built in camera which is very convenient.

It?s unfortunate that Audi does not give you the option to pre wire it from the factory, as it would be much easier and cleaner install. Im sure newer Audis will just have built in Cameras, pretty easy for OEMs to do.

The Audi dashcams are way too overpriced. I have Fitcamx in my car. Installation is a bit difficult but they use the power from rain sensor so don't need to run any additional wires. The fitment is also seamless.

I just hardwired the miofive. I have been using a front only dashcam for years and figured it was time for an updgrade.
Works great, reasonable price. The hardest part was getting the cable from the front to the back but it looks oem hidden under every panel now.
Highly recommend. Quality is great and you can have the video on all the time while driving which i like because I know it's working.

I don't have anything to compare but the video quality looks ok to me. Fitment is good but the installation is a pain in the ass just to remove the mirror housing.

I use the Mercylion A32 2K QHD Front and Back Cameras as a wireless Audi dashcam, and it’s been a solid choice. The video quality is great, and installation was simple compared to the dealer-installed option. The Mercylion unit gives front and rear coverage without dealing with complicated wiring.
