I need to do this for the first time, can't find much specific info on here. What bleeders are you guys using and any tips?

    Thanks

I use a Motive Products power bleeder on all my vehicles.

I did it the old fashioned way with my wife sitting in the car and calling out down/up, worked perfect. Put a rubber hose on bleeder at caliper and direct fluid to a plastic soda bottle.

This is fluid type you need, ATE Original SL.6 DOT 4 Brake Fluid

Most people I know have Motive Bleeders

Thanks, don't know if my wife will want to help, but I can make one of the kids help me! Is 1 Liter of fluid enough? I basically make sure enough fluid is in the reservoir, open up the bleeder and they push some fluid out, repeat on all the bleeder valves, correct? Its been years since I've bled the brakes on anything!

    Thanks

This is sequence I have always used (sitting in driver's seat) start farthest away from master cylinder
    Bleeding sequence
    1 Right rear brake caliper.
    2 Left rear brake caliper
    3 Right front brake caliper
    4 Left front brake caliper

Suck as much of old fluid out of reservoir as possible and replace with new before you start bleeding.

I recommend having all 4 wheels off to make at same time
Put boxed end wrench on bleeder and break loose and close quickly
put clear hose on bleeder and other end into a plastic soda bottle
Have helper pump brake pedal a few times and have them push down and hold down and open bleeder to let fluid out. Close bleeder and say "up" to have helper release brake pedal
Tell helper "down" and hold while you open bleeder again.
say "up" to have helper release brake pedal.
Repeat above until you see clean fluid coming through the line to soda bottle.
Tighten down bleeder and move to next wheel.

Make sure helper does not release brake pedal until you say "up" could cause air to get sucked in.

I used the whole liter to the very last drop, got lucky!

You can probably find some YouTube videos if you search 2-Person Brake Bleeding

    Good Luck!!

    This!
You should always bleed the caliper furthest away from the reservoir first. Next furthest away second, etc.

Our modern Audi's do not use the traditional sequence. The order in post #5 is correct.

Since all 4 corners have individual brake lines because of ABS Systems and Stability Control (unlike cars I drove in my 20's) maybe in modern cars it is closest to furthest?

My suggestion came from previous experience and not from erWin Audi repair manual.
