Hi everyone, recently bought a new rs3. Beautiful car.

As far as I am aware, it has an inbuilt factory tracker which I feel uneasy about.

I was wondering if anyone knows it's whereabouts as I like to take control of my privacy.

    Thanks for your impending help

I recommend not posting to the internet, and going to a dealer for them to deal with it. It is done through mobile network.
I prefer my car not getting stolen because now someone knows where the GPS tracker is...

With the cell connection in the car, aren't all of them tracked. Not sure how you can disable that.

ya, its all tracked. You can look it up on myAudi where your car is at all times. Also uses geofencing for valet and for when a user takes the car out of town if you so wish.
When you set Homelink, it uses GPS to know when to pop up the 'garage clicker' on your screen

It feels like our whole lives are tracked, whether we like it or not. I can be chatting about something and next thing you know related topics come up on my phone :)

You probably have to pull the mobile hot spot modem out, but will probably cause something in the car to be very unhappy.

Many new cars comes with the tracker now. I purchased 2 Toyota cars last year (Tacoma and a GR 86) and both came with the GPS tracker. From what I understand is sort of a SOS system. I honestly rather have it, it can save your ass in a remote area or in case of an accident. Many car makers also use it for diagnosis or to track stolen cars. The first car that I remember owning and recall having a system like that was a 08 Vette with the onstar. I wouldn't worry too much, besides that you are in freaking Australia, you guys have more land than anyone on this planet, who is going to track to on the outback/savanah/tundra?
8V RS3 [email protected] mph (ran a few 11.7s stock and ran 118+mph several times)
8Y RS3 k&N filter ran [email protected] (ran 11.6 5 times and trapped 120+ several times)
    at 3100ft elevation
