Difference between B8 2.0T turbo inlet hoses for Q5 and A4 (for new intake install)

Just a question, are the engine bays for the B8 Q5 2.0T and A4 similar? I am looking to put an A4 intake in my Q5 engine bay, and don't know if all the mounting points are identical. From looking at some images comparing the two engine bays, they seem almost identical, but don't know for sure. I also made sure to contact the vendor if they can check for compatibility, and they said that it has never been tried before. If anyone knows, please reply, it will be great help.

By the way, here is the intake I plan on putting in: https://performancebyie.com/products...ntake-b8-a4-a5

(EDIT): I learned from the replies on this thread that the mounting points are not the main issue, but the intake hose is. The Q5 and A4 use different intake hoses, as I was able to find by reviewing their two different pages.

After doing some searching, I noticed that the two different parts actually look identical. Along with this, they had the same root part number, with different supersession numbers. (i.e. root is 06H129629, the one for the A4 is 6H129629J, and the one for the Q5 is 6H129629L).

Now, I know that the turbos used in these cars are the same throughout all models, so I'm not sure how the diameter of the hose would be different. I installed a turbo muffler delete for an A4 on the Q5, and it fit perfectly with the OEM hose I have on my car. I'm thinking it may be their length and shape, but from what I can tell I can't see a difference.

Again, any help and/or opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Ok my man, I saw you screaming out the other day. I don’t have an answer for you. BUT…
You could go on the Audiparts site, and first check part numbers on the Q5, and the A4 assemblies. OR…
Call IE, but I see they already have different part #’s for A4/S4.
    Good luck

The air filter box is the same, but the hose to the turbo inlet and the inlet ramp to the lock carrier are not the same. For example,
    the B8.5 A4 2.0T hose: https://parts.audiusa.com/p/49806533/06H129629J.html
    the B8.5 Q5 2.0T hose: https://parts.audiusa.com/p/51113468/06H129629L.html
Are they too different to make the IE part work with a little effort? No idea. Probably best to find a used A4 and compare visually.

Interesting. I am not exactly sure myself what the differences are, as their diagrams seemed exactly the same, but I guess they exist on two different pages for a reason.

After looking around some more, I found a video on YouTube of someone putting a CTS turbo intake that was meant for a A4 in their Q5, and they seemed to use the inlet hose that came with the kit. here it is:

Would this make it more likely that I can fit the intake hose onto my Q5, similar to the guy in the video?

Do you know what's different about it? Is it the diameter, or length, etc.

Guy lost me at “install at your own risk”. Guy rigged it. All he showed was a bolt and a tab he manipulated. Didn’t show anything else. Nothing like an unfiltered intake leak in the front of your engine bay. The throttle body will love it.

Seems like a couple other people in the comments did the same thing as him. I'm honestly not sure why he would try to hide or rig something if it doesn't benefit him in any way, unless he works for CTS turbo and is "promoting" their product.

I didn't mean to say that to counter your statement or anything, and I know there is going to be risk in trying this out such as space availability, but wouldn't an unfiltered intake leak only happen if the plumbing is punctured, or connections are loose, or the wrong diameter hoses were used? I'm only trying to learn, and I don't know much about this stuff, besides knowing that the two hoses are the same diameter. Anything helps brother

I installed the cts turbo intake for a b8 a4 on my 2012 q5 2.0 today everything worked fine . I had to tweak the two mounts a little to adjust angle for the hose to mount to maf. Only thing that didn’t work was the L bracket mount which is not a big deal .
