New RS5 Engine Revision? 2.9L DECC Engine Code 470 WHP

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hello all,

I've stumbled upon this information while browsing partslink.com and could not find any other info about this engine code.
Based on this info they start mounting this engine in cars from March 2024.
There is also a new revision of the 0D5 Gearbox.

Any ideas of what they are launching?

Same info in ETKA and RS4 B9.5 get the same engine...

The fourth letter denotes the tune level. So it's still a DEC engine, but with a new output definition, given letter C. The fourth letter is random by engine, A doesn't mean the same thing from engine to engine, etc.

DECC 346 kW = 464 bhp, vs. DECA 331 kW = 444 bhp. So similar to the CAEB > CAED and CPMA > CPMB bump for MY14 on the B8 2.0T. Just some ECM tweaking for some more numbers. I wonder if the redline was raised. That the programming of the 0D5 is updated is probably not surprising, thus new trans code.

Will this be tied to the comp pack, or just provided across the board? Who knows.

Interesting stuff. Not sure why Audi is making changes this late in the game for the RS4/5.

+ To add to this, I recently bought a 2023 RS5 Competition and got it dynoed at 440whp = ~520+ Crank HP. I've done some dragy testing and It's Noticeably faster than my non-comp RS5 I had previously.

1/4mile: 11.5 @118.43MPH (I actually know someone who managed to trap 119.83 stock). 0 to 60 in 3.3seconds (3.15 with roll out). and 100 to 200 in 9.15 seconds. That 100 to 200 time was quite surprising because it puts it in the same territory as a BMW M3 touring based on reviews I've watched from the AutoTopNL Youtube channel.

Not sure what to make of what OP Posted but I think I can confidently say that 2.9TT is getting faster the older it gets.

Brand new or used? Various tuners and other people have said they've dynoed the Competition model and the HP is the same as the non-Competition model. Plus, the Competition uses the same engine code as the regular RS5 meaning it has the same tune from the factory.

Most M3/M4 Comps are doing high 7's to low 8's 100-200. AutoTopNL did a low 7 in the M3 CS (same as the M4 CSL). The touring might be a bit slower but I can't imagine it's over a second slower.

Bought it used with 5k Miles but I've done my due diligence and checked in with Audi of St. Paul to make sure it wasn't tuned.

What tuners have come out and said there isn't any differences between the comp and non comp? Couldn't have been 034 right? because "a4 4snow" on this forum has spoken with 034 and they told him Audi shifted the power band around on for better performance. Another thing to mention is his comp also made ~20+ more horsepower than any other RS5 they've ever tested. Similar to my dyno results. You can find all this info on the RS5 Competition Owners corner Thread.

Surprisingly the M3 Touring is noticeably slower than the Sedan and Coupe.

Here's the AutoTopNL video I was referencing for my 100 to 200: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-AGj...nnel=AutoTopNL

Another thing to note is that the another channel (Automann-tv) managed to pull off a 8.9 with the RS5 Competition Coupe. Which makes sense, since its ~100lbs lighter than my RS5 Comp Sportback.

This may explain why I am feeling more power in my 2024 RS5 Comp. It is definitely different than my old 2021 RS5. The torque seems to be higher as I was surprised today going up a hill that I traveled with my 2021 RS5 as well. In the old car, I had to push down the pedal to maintain speed, but it would downshift in the middle of the climb. The new car today, I did the same thing, and it never downshifted and kept pulling a little more (all in 8th gear).

What engine code is in your car? The new DECC engine is schedule to be installed in cars starting this month.

I guess almost 200 extra lbs will do that (touring vs sedan). Yet another reason I would never buy a wagon even if it was available in North America.

    I have RS5 2022 coupe stage 2 custom 91 RON + E10 100-200 7.3s and I still feel it slow =/

That's why I want to update the turbos for 5.xS 100-200.

If you think low 7's is slow, you should probably get another car. 992 911 Turbo S? Low 6, low 5 with a tune.

It is cheaper for me to modify my current car. exploring a platform is much more entertaining but at the same time risky. With methanol injection you can get a good improvement. The problem is the intake manifold is asymmetrical.

With an engine upgrade, does that mean there will be a 2025 RS5? How long will they keep building the current platform?

If the 2025 is still on the B9 chassis then that’s just sad.

I have loved Audi since I was a kid, but their extremely slow release of new models and stagnation in performance have really caused me to become jaded.

To put it into perspective, the G82 M4 LCI refresh will start landing soon…and we are barely getting spy shots of the B10.

To add insult to injury, all rumors are pointing to Avant and sportback only. No coupe :(

The B10 RS5 will be Avant only.
