20" Alzor Wheel Clearance - Blew my Tires and Bent Wheels

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Today wasn't too great of a day as I hit debris in the road and popped and bent the tires and wheels on my passenger side. Got the car to dealership I work at and its just sitting in the lot right now, so I'm looking at getting new wheels and tires. Our parts guy said 20" tires are cheaper than 19", and I like the Alzor Style 628 RS-replica wheels and am eyeing up the 20" ones (They don't ship until March 27 on ECS but EuroSport says they have them in stock), however its noted that at least a 3mm spacer is needed to clear the caliper.

Anyone who has run the 20" Alzor 628 wheels, can you confirm what spacer setup you had? If EuroSport doesn't have the 20" in stock then I'll just go with the 19s, but do they also require spacers?

    Thanks all.

I do not have 20” Alzor 628 wheels but based on the link for 20” that you provided, their spec is 20x9 ET30.

For reference, on my 2017 S6 I am running RS5 black optic wheels which are 20x9 ET29 and they fit just fine, no spacers. My tires are 275/30.

Maybe I’m missing something here but I don’t think you need any spacers.

I’ve always liked the rotor design. So much so that I have two variants of the 628 for my summer and winter setups. I can confirm the Alzor 628 20x9 et30 WILL absolutely need a minimum 3mm spacer to clear the front caliper cover bolt.
For winter, I have the 19x8.5 et45. Those also would not fit without spacers but I had some on hand that I planned on using from the start to give me a flush look. The OEM sport 20” wheels were close to this being 20x8.5 et43-45(?) can’t remember which, so I wanted to keep close to those specs with the 628. I ran 12mm/20mm F/R spacers on my stock wheels, zero rubbing issues, and run the same setup on the winter Alzor 19s.
Some considerations: 20” tires will be more expensive. But the concavity on the 20x9 is significantly more than the 19x8.5. The 20s are much more visually striking imo and closer to that aggressive rs look. If I only had one wheel setup, I’d go with the 20s. I’m guessing here but the reason Alzor has fitment issues is the thicker design on the inner portion of the rotor.

20s without spacer, contact with bolt.

Thanks for the info! Unfortunately even EuroSport Tuning said the 20" 628 wheels were out of stock until, at the earliest, March 27th. I couldn't wait that long and the 19" wheels I wasn't too sure of since I've been eyeing 20" wheels for awhile now. I also really need my car since this next week and especially this month I'm going to be doing A TON of driving. I picked up some C7.5 20" wheels which I'm really happy with (both the design and the price w/ tires). They're pretty tucked in (ET 45) so some wheel spacers and especially coilovers to lower the car and she'll be set.

Thanks for your help and info.

No problem. They look good! I’d say you’d need a similar spacer setup as mine to flush the wheels. 12mm front, 20mm rear

Most def, they're so tucked in right now (ET 45). Also coilovers because the wheel gap is insane
