Has anyone removed the factory wheel caps? I bought a set of dynamic floating caps to install and wondering if there is a "trick of the trade" before I screw something up.

Take the wheel off and knock them out from the back. I wouldn't try taking them off from the front.

    22+ 8Y wheel cap removal

Clean the cap, pinch some duct tape to create a handle with enough surface area to attach to cap and not wheel, grab your tape handle with pliers and give it a quick yank. I use gorilla tape. APR wheel & cap shown but also works on Audi & VW OEM.

That sounds promising. I will try it.

Yeah.... that didn't work for me. LOL

Tape keeps ripping off cap. Even paid $10 for Gorilla tape. These caps on the 8Y are the ones with a metal retention ring around them so they may have a better grip. My PPF guy is going to be doing a ceramic coating on my wheels anyway in a week or two, so I'll just have him pop them in there for me.
