JJE 6 speed quattro transmission weight?

We are probably going to swap out the trans in my son's 2006 A4 2.0T quattro it's a JJE 6 speed auto. It looks heavy. I will probably rent or buy a trans jack, but does anyone know what the weight of the trans is so I get a trans jack that can safely handle the weight?

    Thanks.

ZF6HP26 which is the 09E Tiptronic for the V8 cars is 310 lbs.

I would imagine the ZF6HP19 which is the 09L Tiptronic for the smaller motors and what is in the B7 A4 would be at least 270 lbs,

wow, approx 300 lbs that would sting if it fell on your head. I think a trans jack is a must.

    Thanks.

we decided to change the valve body/TCM, we took the "new to us" one out of the replacement trans and put it into our trans and it appears to have worked. Much easier than a full trans swap. We will keep the spare trans for a while to make certain that the fix is an actual fix.

How did you source the 'new to us' transmission? Junk yard? Ebay, delivered?

Would you share the cost for the replacement trans?

NVM I see it in your other thread.

I live in Scottsdale AZ but work takes me to Tucson AZ frequently and I found a trans out of a car that matched my sons A4. same 3 digit trans code JJE, same year, same specs etc with a claimed 63k miles, they had the vin so i ran it and it shows the car was crashed and sold at auction with 63k so i assume it's correct. The price with taxes, core charge etc was $217. We own a truck so my son drove to Tucson to pick it up. I found the trans on this website: - car-part.com
