    MMI Upgrade

I have a 2022 S4 and have a couple of questions about the MMI system upgrade. First, is there somewhere that lists the current version of the system out in the wild from Audi? Second, is the dealership the only way to upgrade the system? I know OTA upgrade isn't possible for the system itself, unlike the map updates which I currently get. I had an issue with AA auto a little while back, and when talking with the dealership, they made it sound like its a difficult upgrade and there are many 'modules' they need to update. I originally thought it would be a 'system-wide' update, something like updating your phone, however, doesn't seem that easy. Just looking for a little more info and would like to see if I am eligible for an upgrade. TIA

You can download newer firmware for your MMI headunit and VC from mibsolution.one. You transfer the files to an SD card and it takes around 15 minutes to flash the firmware onto the MMI. Less time for the VC.

The chances of there being firmware available that’s newer than what you’re running is slim.

Your dealership is talking out of their arse. Dealerships (in general) aren’t much use other than booking you in for oil changes. Most of them don’t touch the technical systems in the car so aren’t necessarily clued up on it.

You can always phone up other nearby dealerships and ask them if they’re able to update your MMI and VC.

Great, thanks for the info, will check it out. Will also talk to my dealership again to see if there are any updates.

MibSolution.one does not appear to have (that I can find) United States software for our generation (B9.5) of cars. We have the MIB3 / MHI3 / US_AU software. The only software they have for USA is US_AUG (that G is important) K3281 which is for the smaller non-touch screen MMI in the non-facelift B9 model (Pre-2019 ?). Other countries are available however. Looks like they have version P3853 posted which is much newer then mine P3696. All you chaps in the EU are lucky!! Dealer wants over $400 to update my software.

I have a glitch in mine where the old owner still has remote access and Audi tech cant figure out how to clear it out. No ability to login with EMail/Password. Audi techs are hoping a software update will do it but cannot tell me for sure. Since mine is not under warranty, I have to cough up $400 :-(
