Hello, as our cars age alot of sensors are going bad, i personally feel that there is no point replacing and aligning them constantly to get minor benefits.

Lane assist (pre 2013, where it vibrates the steering wheel and not turn the wheel for you to keep in lane) is definitely one of them. im on a 2012 A7C7.

Been recently having this message "active lane assist system fault!" pop up every 10 seconds while driving. like 200 times in a journey. i think one sensor is glitching in and out as its been constantly raining with no time for car to dry up in the sun/heat.

Has anyone had similar issues and managed to code it out on vagcom? Able to link a forum post or suggestion to perhaps de-activate/unplug some sensors as a quick fix?

You should be able to turn off lane assist in the MMI too, under Car settings and driver assistance. Or VCDS to unlock that.

When I got this fault, one of the ACC sensors in the front bumper had come loose. Held enough to work at times but it would randomly loose it, clear, loose it, fail.... just maddening on a long trip!! Popped it back into place and the system self corrected and fault has yet to return (2 years).

Yes... sensors get old, but things also happen. I'd suggest you check the mountings and make sure they are all solid!

    Cheers,

    KS
