    2019 RS5 winter tires

I just purchased a 2019 Audi RS5 sportback! I currently have a 2015 Camaro with full bolt ons as well which will serve as my weekend car and the Audi will be my daily. The Audi has 27k miles and has a stage 1 apr tune, APR carbon intake and IPE exhaust, it may have down pipes as well and be catless I haven’t been able to tell yet.

I do have a question with tires. The car currently has the extreme contact summer tires and I do need to get a set of winter tires living in WV and traveling 3 states. I would like to get a nice set of summer rims and use the factory 20” for winter but that will have to wait till spring/summer. Using the stock size 275/30/20 is very limited in winter tire choices.

would I be able to run a 265/30/20 or a 275/35/20? As there’s far more options in those sizes? Any winter tires anyone would recommend?

Use this to get a bit of a visual comparison - 265/30/20 matches better from an overall circumference perspective.

I have a set of Conti winter contacts. Great snow tire. One really appreciates the versatility of the Rs5 after driving thru snow.

I use Michelin PA4 275/30/20 on my 2019 RS5 Sportback and could not be happier. I'm on my 6th winter with them in the Chicago area, they go through anything, wear well, are quiet, and handle well enough in cold weather for light track time.

Previously I have followed conventional wisdom and used smaller wheels and tires for winter, but those cars always drove differently with the winter setup. This time I did something different with my RS5 and used the same size summer and winter. As a result, the car drives the same summer and winter, and winter traction on dry roads approaches summer behavior - not quite, but close enough for winter.

However, you may have trouble finding them in stock at this point in the season

Last winter ran Michelin Pilot Alpin PA4 (275/30R20) on my 2018 RS5 coupe and they were great. I live in Alberta, Canada so we definitely get snow :)

I am running 255/35 R19's with some old S5 wheels from 2013. They fit perfect.
